Leonardo Hotel Lago di Garda - Wellness and Spa

Breakfast was superb! The lobby/reception was refurbished however, the rest of the hotel you could see it is a little bit old. It’s 3/4 buildings, with elevators and exterior doors connecting which is not nice, because if I went to get down to the reception I need to go “outside” and then get into the elevator. In this time of the year is a constant hot/cold going from the bedroom to another facility. Bed wasn’t that comfortable also and made some noise. Overall, the cleaning was good and people were very friendly! It was a good stay. If they refurbish the rest of the hotel or making it more cozy would have very potential.

Purtroppo non è più il Principe che avevamo lasciato prima del covid. Molte piccole coccole non ci sono più... Niente tisaneria nel centro benessere... Bambini che sguazzano in piscina.. Caffè della colazione con la macchinetta... Erano piccoli accorgimenti che facevano la differenza con altri posti pari livello... Mi spiace ma siamo rimasti delusi perché c'eravamo stati molte volte e sempre molto soddisfatti.

General overview; feels quite relaxing and quiet, is away from the hustle and bustle of the bigger settlements, a little too far to walk to Lazise in peak summer heat but possible in colder months. Sometimes felt quite unwelcoming and sometimes outright rude by staff. See tips at end of review. ❌ if the people in the neighbouring rooms decide to do...anything...you will be pretty well informed about it. There are lots of noises and they are very audible. ❌ very little in the way of rule enforcement; children running around the spa area, jumping in the pool, playing on the treadmills when children are supposed to be accompanied in that area and the spa area is supposed to be a quiet area. Spa staff were constantly busy with massages etc, but lifeguards never, ever seen except for opening and closing parasols. ❌ regular bad smells in the bathroom seeming to come from drain in the shower. ✅ some staff really helpful, such as the man who looked like a floor manager who wore a white shirt, who seemed to thrive off guests having a good time. ❌ Other staff seemed really bothered if we asked for anything, and came across as rude. See separate review for restaurant. ✅ good room and bathroom size, and shower was great ✅ bed is okay and very large which is great for tall people like me! ❌ Bed never properly made. No fitted sheet, and came loose really easily, exposing the mattress. ✅❌ Bottles of water in fridge, but not made clear that they're free. ✅ breakfast is pretty standard. ✅ separate pools for families/adults mean there is a quiet area for those wanting it, and the adults area has the best view of the mountains ❌ spa area is hard to book, especially weekends, as there seems to be only 2 staff. ✅ Spa area has good sunbathing beds, away from most noise, a good spot for reading or sunbathing if the outdoor seats are taken, and the pool is warmer than the outside ones but is much quieter. The signs aren't great to help you find your way around. Massages were very good. - tips; get to breakfast early, before half 8, if you want quiet breakfast - nearest bus stop is outside Rock Star, you can use underpass that is within Canevaworld car park to get there - buses very unreliable. If you go on Google Maps and click on the bus stop, it shows you where each bus is - if buying tickets with cash on board, you are given a stub which you then scan in the red machine, QR code up. If paying by card, scan on and scan off - be careful if walking down to the lake; we went down the side of Rock Star, got to the lake, turned right, and the entire route is camp sites until Lazise, you can't get back to the roads, was a very uncomfortable walk in the heat - would recommend the Opera in Verona and also the Valpolicella wine tasting with a transfer (at cost) from Verona very highly

We stayed at this hotel for a week as part of a 5 week car tour. We knew it was a little out of the way but for us this was an advantage for us as we had a car and needed a parking space (which is plentiful and free) and wanted to be away from the crowds - a lot of the small towns around Lake Garda, like so many tourist areas, are besieged by visitors, unpleasantly so. We had a friendly welcome and given an upgraded room. The room was large and in good condition, fridge and kettle, nice en-suite and well serviced and clean (cleaning was a little varied but on the whole good). There is an excellent spa and indoor swimming pool. The breakfast was really excellent but the evening meal (we were on half board) rather disappointing as one of us is a vegetarian and the first night the main course was a choice between chicken and octopus. We did raise this with the head waiter at the time but either he didn’t or didn’t want to understand. On raising it with reception the following day Valentina was excellent - she offered to sort things out with the chef but we opted out of the half board and the hotel refunded the money (although I think ******* kept half of this. Actually on reflection I wish we had let let Valentina sort things out with chef!). Nice swimming outdoor pools, rather cold but it was end of September. Pleasant public areas. I think if you didn’t have a car and wanted to be near the lake this might be problematic but it sorted us fine. Want to record personal thanks to Valentina on reception - very helpful and friendly lady.

The staff is very rude. The eggs at breakfast have the consistency of plastic. The rooms are very always damp and humid regardless of the outside temperature. There is ALWAYS a horrible odor as you walk from your room toward the lobby. BAD!!!

Lovey hotel in a beautiful location, with stunning views. Our room was clean and comfortable, although a little small for 3 adults and the mini bar was not topped up, which wasn't great considering the price we paid for the room. Breakfast was ok, but plenty of choice. Staff friendly, some more helpful than others. Taxis are needed to get in and out of town as it's too far to walk and too dangerous in the evening as the road is pitch black. Would recommend this hotel, just we paid so much I was expecting a better room for the price, but it was peak season and we booked last minute due to another hotel cancelling our booking.

This was our last stop in Italy for 6 nights, we were a family of 4 and had 2 rooms. There was a slight confusion with one of our rooms as we wanted a twin and had to wait a while for the double bed, which was actually 2 single beds zipped together, to be prepared by house keeping as a twin. However, the rooms were a really good size and clean - with what I would expect for 4 stars. We had opted to pay extra for a deluxe room, which on the website stated in had a free mini-bar, which turned out to be 2 cans of beer and 2 bottles of water, we had to ask for the water to be replenished, for a 4 star I would of expected it to be replenished without asking. The hotel facilities were really good - bar & restaurant recently renovated. As it was still technically off-season, the bar menu wasn't available, although the menus were put out onto the tables everyday, I am guessing as it had the drinks in there. The breakfast was good and although busy in morning we did get a table. A special shout out to the what we think was the restaurant manager, Filipio, the hours he worked were long, we saw him late into the. Night then early at breakfast the next day - but he always had a smile and would always have time to have a chat with us to see how we are. The reception staff were also great and always on hand to help. If you want a relaxing resort type venue then this is the one! We used the spa & and treatments, and the facilities were excellent! However, to get into the main area of Lazise it is roughly a 10min taxi journey or 30min walk (be warned the footpaths aren't great and lots of cycle lanes) We ended paying 30 euros each day on taxis which you can order at reception and on the way back you call a number at a taxi rank you can find at the main entrance to Lazise. Overall, it was a nice hotel with great facilities and great staff, location not that great .

This hotel is located near the town of Lazise. It took about 45 mins to walk to the town, which s beautiful. The people on reception are extremely helpful and look after you well. We were on half board - the breakfast was excellent - good variety. For adults, the dinner should be of a greater size! The portions are not generous at all, so fill up on the starter salad! My daughter is coeliac and the waiter, Kelvin, did an excellent job in reassuring her that the food would be ok for her. He was so polite and caring; we really took to him. The facilities are good and the nature of the hotel is very respectable. Beautiful pools, adequate gym, jacuzzi and it has beautiful views. A really good stay in a good location.

We have just returned from a truly magical week at the Leonardo Lago di Garda. Relaxing, clean, and classy without being snobby. The staff are very welcoming, and the spa facilities are perfect after a day out sightseeing. The hotel is big enough to have what you need, but not too big to feel impersonal. The meals were always beautifully presented and delicious, but if you want huge portions this is not the place for you. The food is about quality rather than overindulgence. It was our first time here, and it won't be the last. We used public transport- the bus stop is a ten minute walk away and run every 15-20 minutes, although occasionally got delayed. Track them on the Ticket Bus Verona app, which is reliable 90% of the time. We would advise downloading and logging in before you travel as I couldn't receive the SMS code which meant I couldn't access all the features. A free Movieland bus also goes to Pescheira train station for visits to Verona, Venice or Milan. While here, also check out Lazise, Sirmione, Malcesine and Gardaland. There is so much to see and do, and have the perfect base to go from.
