Hotel Alicia Auray le Bono

On arrival, the larger room to sleep three was not as we expected. It was really small and did not look like the photo on the TUI site when we booked. Barbara in reception appeared very disinterested and unwilling to help us. She kept showing us a room code (that was not on our booking) and said the hotel had given us the room that TUI booked for us. She said we would have to speak to the TUI rep in the morning. I rang TUI and with them on the phone got them to speak to Barbara. She was still unwilling to help and was very dismissive. We changed rooms the next day thanks to the lovely TUI rep and the hotel management. On returning to our room one day the door was left open by the housekeeping staff. The door had been locked from the inside and it was still on the lock when we returned. Luckily nothing was taken and the manager gave us a bottle of fizz to apologise. The vegan options are not labelled and we had to ask for soya milk every morning at breakfast as it was not left out. The waiting staff often just lean over you to collect plates. One day there was a poor tiny piglet on display in the middle of the dining room. It had been roasted whole and split in half. It was something out of Lord if the Flies. On a rainy day when nobody was around the pool, we saw the lifeguard shout at and chase the lovely black stray cat that is often in the grounds. He tried to kick it, but missed. This cat is really friendly it was horrible to see it treated like this. There were cockroaches in the downstairs public toilets and we took a photo of a dead one we saw one morning by the ground floor lifts. On our last morning we had an early flight. As we packed up in the dark, the power turned off a few times before going out completely. The whole hotel had a power cut and there was only emergency lighting in the corridors. We had to check we had everything packed and search the room by the light from our phones. The lifts were out of action and we had to carry our suitcases down the stairs. At reception, the elderly people in front of us were asking for a torch to help them pack up. The man on reception just shrugged his shoulders and said the handyman had been called. There was no apology or offer of assistance.

Hotel Alicia is a well run hotel offering everything that is shown on the TUI website, the hotel is kept immaculate by an army of cleaners, reception staff were always polite and helpful , TUI reps on hand every morning for any help or advice. Food is a buffet at breakfast and dinner, no issues with ‘cold food!’ All food was prepared and replaced during service if dishes ran out ( wether it was earlier or later service ) always plenty of choice which changes every night. Sarah’s restaurant offered al a carte once per stay but if there is any spare tables a second visit can be taken on the day of request. Sunbeds! Sick of reading negatives about this, we were up between 8-9 and you could always get a sun bed , on the roof terrace you had to be up at 7-30 to get a sun bed but there were always the larger double beds available presumably as they offered no shade this suited us. Entertainment was varied as in most resorts Abba again not to be missed…let your hair down and have a dance ! The resort is great next to a marina plenty of choice for eating out prices compare with English restaurants and bars. Great holiday had would recommend, don’t get hung up about negative food and sun bed issues on trip advisor they are not an issue here. sea view room is fabulous with sunrise every morning all recently refurbished rooms sea photos on TUI they reflect the rooms perfectly .

Hôtel avec quelques points forts. La vue du balcon sur la rivière ou le calme, bien sûr. Aussi la qualité de la literie, la propreté, ainsi que l'acceuil. L'emplacement est excellent pour de nombreuses excursions périphériques. Le petit déjeuner correct qui pourrait être légèrement amélioré, surtout le jambon blanc ou les serviettes un peu plus grandes, mais compte-tenu du prix très serré, 11,50 euros, ce ne sont que des points de détail. Merci pour votre disponibilité, je recommande ce bar avec une terrasse superbe et cet hôtel reposant.

Petit déjeuner correct mais perfectible (confiture et miel notamment de qualité très basique), pour le reste c'est super...notamment la literie...

Meilleure moment en terrasse ambiance cool terrasse vue rivière jolie vue service au top chambres bien entretenues on y dort bien on reviendra pour la semaine du golfe avec plaisir lits confortables de la part de toute la famille prix raisonnables de la suite côté rivière
