Dont miss this town on your Scotland tour. Beautiful old town in the middle of nowhere. Dead quiet---like you are back in the 1800s---hotel is wonderful---food out of this world--people so friendly---make the trip to Leadhills for a night or two !!

This was one of the best hotels we have stayed in. A warm welcome on arrival and cases carried up to our suite. Wonderful large modern bathroom. Entrance lounge with all the tea/coffee making facilities and a lovely comfy warm twin bedded bedroom. Everything was very clean, despite the age of the property nothing was shabby . We dined in the evening in the hotel and the food was absolutely first class served by very attentive staff. Breakfast menu was magnificent, very large choice nothing was a problem. I would highly recommend this hotel to all.

What a lovely, very friendly hotel. We were stuck at the nearest motorway service station as our campervan had broken down. The owner, Rab, picked us up from the service station, as we couldn't get a taxi. Rachel was at the door when we pulled up to welcome us. The room was very comfortable, quiet and roomy. Breakfast was very good, with a good selection of cereals and fruit, along with a cooked breakfast and the coffee was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel

Our first time using overnight pub parking . Parked our camper van on the hotel car park and enjoyed a delicious meal in the lounge bar, a warm lounge with an open fire with an equally warm reception from the bar staff. Well recommended for future overnight campers.

A lovely place to stay we had bedroom 10 which is a lovely cosy attic room with en-suite bathroom. We ate all 3 dinners there and lovely fresh food. What makes this hotel is the lovely friendly staff especially Sarah who are so welcoming. The staff all work so hard to provide a lovely stay and a great location too.

My nephew booked a room in the hotel for his 50th birthday party. We stayed overnight with a lovely breakfast in the morning. Such comfortable beds and well fitted out rooms. Could have had a dance in the shower room. Well done the owners and staff for a really good experience

What a gorgeous location and hotel. Very rustic and cosy feel with a small car park around the back with a decking area overlooking the fields. The rooms were cosy yet had modern bathrooms. The beds were comfy and supplies of toiletries, tea, coffee and magazines were greatly appreciated. The venue offers food as well (before 8pm) for both restaurant service and take away. I would personally recommend the ribs. The breakfast offered is fresh and enjoyable with apple or orange juice on offer as well as flavoured tea, full English or Scottish breakfast as well as a few continental options. The staff were friendly and attentive. There is a convenience shop next door for any on the road supplies too. A car would be recommended for this hotel but I would certainly recommend.

We stayed here for one night in April. Our room was great. Big room with a big bathroom too. It had a lovely feature bath which wasn't working at that point but that didn't matter. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel bar and restaurant had a nice atmosphere and we had a nice meal that night. Breakfast the following morning was tasty and had lots of choice. Very much enjoyed our stay

We were passing through the village after doing a spot of gold panning in the hills and came across this charming hotel in the middle of nowhere. We, stopped for some food which was amazing. The staff are really friendly, welcoming and warm and there is a roaring warm fire for the colder/wetter days. Overall I'd really recommend anyone passing to grab some food here if they're not staying, you won't be disappointed.
