Palazzo Dei Dondoli

We stayed at the Palazzo for three nights, it was a great base to explore Puglia. It was also an easy 4 min walk to the old town of Lecce. We had a car and there was plenty of free street parking near the Palazzo. The Palazzo is a little hard to find at first as it just has a plaque on the wall beside the front door. The staff were very friendly and explained everything about the Palazzo and also things to do and see in Lecce. They were very patient and answered all our questions. Our room was up three flights of stairs but luckily they had installed a small lift so we were able to send the bags up the stairs and we walked. Our room was large with a kitchen, eating area, separate daybed area as well as a large bedroom and bathroom. We had lots of French doors on to a balcony so we could open the doors at night and catch a breeze. It did have air conditioning. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I always think beds in Italian hotels look so uncomfortable as they have quite a small hard looking mattress but when you lie in them they are very comfortable. The breakfast was served in a lovely room on the ground floor, there were plenty of options. Lots of sweet treats, the pasticciotto was divine….make sure you try it if you go to Lecce. The only thing that could be improved at breakfast is perhaps a toaster and maybe poached eggs. I heard a few people ask for them and I would have loved to have some as well. Not a deal breaker, just a suggestion. We had a great stay here and would highly recommend it.

Fantastic location and outstanding cheery helpful staff make this a great option for visiting Lecce and the Pulgia region. The old town is a short walk and both the Adriatic and Ionic coasts are an hour or two drive away. Best of all, Beatrice and Francesca truly go out of their way to make your visit special, with great advise and a truly cheerful disposition. Breakfast is great with a private shared courtyard area.

From the warm welcome from the lovely Beatrice to our beautiful terraced room to the yummy breakfast. This property tucked in the backstreet close to the old city was a hidden oasis. The garden was lovely to sip coffee, we loved everything about this property. Recently renovated.

Dark room on the ground floor (light only comes from a small window and the front door - which has a window - faces a wall), only one outlet on each side of the bed (used for the lamp so if you want to charge your device, you need to unplug), no “master” switch to turn off the lights. Bathroom could have been better as well - small shower cubicle. Overall, slightly underwhelming experience although the palace is nice; it could have been renovated better.

Appena entrati si rimane piacevolmente colpiti dall'atmosfera che emana questo palazzo...la sala colazioni molto carina, il giardino esterno curato dove si può fare colazione o semplicemente stare seduti apprezzando la pace e la tranquillità. La camera spaziosa con un letto molto comodo, abbiamo dormito proprio bene! Ottima colazione, abbiamo apprezzato molto il servizio di caffetteria espressa. Personale molto gentile e disponibile. Comodissimo al centro insomma lo consigliamo a tutti! Speriamo di poterci ritornare presto Marisa Enrico
