Hotel has certain short comes like reception not always passing requests to house maids, offering tea and coffee facilities but omitting to also offer evapore milk and sugar and not enough coffee machines this having to wait for ones coffee. On the other hand though they serve excellent coffe. Breakfast starts only at 07:30 etc. Although the hotel is at a dramatic breathtaking location on a slope overlooking the Ionion sea, it should be pointed out that in order to reach the breakfast room from the reception level one has to navigate 130 steps and to reach the beach another 35. Hence the hotel is - in my opinion - rather uncomfortable for invalids, person's with heart condition or just unfit people. In being fair one should mention hotel offers buggie service. All in all a good hotel where one can relax

A fantastic resort i all possible ways. Great food at the restaurants associated with the resort. Clean rooms with very high standard. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wonderful beach and ocean. I highly recommend this place!

Booked to stay here with friends. They had to cancel due to illness and the hotel Manager was very unhelpful and rude. So much so I cancelled my booking and stayed elsewhere. I didn’t want to give more of my money to a hotel which clearly valued money above customer experience.

Please think twice before booking Porto Galini Hotel in Nikiana. Lefkada has always held a special place in my heart. I lived here, I return often, and I’ve always recommended it to friends — not just for the beauty, but for the warmth, kindness, and generosity that make Greece so special. This year, I encouraged a very close friend and his family to visit. He’s a devoted kite surfer and was excited to experience Lefkada. Tragically, he’s also living with terminal cancer. His condition recently worsened, and just 9 days before their trip, he was forced to begin urgent treatment. They couldn’t come — and a holiday that was meant to offer joy and escape became another thing cancer took from them. We had all booked Porto Galini. On hearing the news, I contacted the hotel, hoping for understanding. But what I met was a wall of inflexible “policy.” No refund. No adjustment. No option to consolidate rooms. Just a flat “no.” I asked to speak with someone who had the authority to make a compassionate decision. The receptionist was lovely — but powerless. The manager, when I finally got him on the phone, was cold and defensive. He made it clear he didn’t want to help and wouldn’t even tell me who “HQ” was. We were left €2.5k out of pocket, with not a shred of empathy shown. I’ve travelled for over 40 years. I know how hotels operate. But this wasn’t just about policy — it was about basic human decency. And Porto Galini failed, badly. It’s clear to me this is yet another investor-run resort, more interested in profit than people — slowly stripping away the very soul of what makes Greece so special. Lefkada deserves better. Greece deserves better. We’ve walked away from the money on principle — because I will never give Porto Galini another cent. If you care about service, humanity, or the spirit of travel, I suggest you do the same.

Porto Galini is huge, has absolutely no sign of the famous Greek hospitality and kindness, has a lot of steps and a great view from the sea and a very nice private beach (stones not sand). But it is not a five-star hotel. Period. We were given a room with a small bed, a tiny bathroom, two rooms in two floors and at least 35 steps from the bedroom to the balcony. Not nice at all. A room chemically cleaned from anything cozy and so unfriendly that we did not want to be there. I went to the reception to complain over the room and ask for another. I was met with an indifference and rudeness that I have not experienced anywhere in the world before. The staff even talked back at me. That is not only rude but also shocking as you have paid 3000 euro for a week there. It really ruined the vacation and we did everything we could to be away from the hotel – which is not easy and requires a bus or a car as walking means jumping for your life on the main road passing the hotel, not to mention the rubbish thrown along the road in appalling quantities. So, if you are given room 73, I will recommend you to make a scene, denying to accept the room and wait in the reception until you a given another. After five days we got another room (waiting 1.5 hour from the time we should have changed room, which was postponing our tour in a rented car, that was absolutely great). But we only had it for two days. On the positive side the housekeeping and the staff in the breakfast cafeteria is very professional, nice and friendly. On the beach you can call for service that will bring you drinks and snacks. Now, some people will appreciate this as a luxury. The mainly Italian or East European guests seemed to do so. I would any day change the beach staff for professional and welcoming people at the reception. But no worries, we will not be coming back.

Very nice resort with amazing private beach, the hotel was full capacity but it never felt too busy we could always find place by the beach. We stayed in a superior suite family of 4 which was very comfortable. Rooms were clean and been serviced everyday. Couple of points that could be better for mgt. to consider More coffee machines or faster ones during breakfast as it was taking forever with long queues every morning we stayed for a week and it was a same everyday. Other recommendations will be get some new hair dryers please the ones in the rooms are from the 90’s and didn’t work all the time and when worked it was taking forever to dry. (3 girls in family) it was taking like 45 mins. Over all very nice experience
