Customer service very poor. Check-in took an inordernate amount of time. No one was there, and despite pressing the buzzer for attention, it was a long time before anyone came to deal with me. I saw other people having the same problem during my stay. Impression was one of pure laziness. Went to the restaurant for something to eat one night. I only wanted two starters, but after 45 mins I was looking at my watch and was about to ask the staff where it was when they finally reached the table. The place was not busy so the delay was hard to justify. Tomato soup fine, but well overpriced. The cheesy potato skins were nothing of the sort. I was presented with a plate of chips covered in cold bits of bacon, and grated cheese over them that hadn't even melted. They tasted old and bland and were bordering on cold. Really very unappetising and disappointing. I never ate there again. Disappointing experience all round. No toiletries in the bathroom except handwash or shower gel (the same thing in my experience), but no problem with cleanliness. You can top up your supplies of tea and coffee at the reception desk. Free wifi was a JOKE. You couldn't even watch a youtube video without it stalling. And forget trying to download anything at all. I tried to download three 45-minute programmes to my laptop and they were still downloading 12 hours later when I had to check out! Honestly, why bother? Given that this is supposed to be an affordable option for a hotel stay it was extremely overpriced And very disappointing. I think next time I'll head to Days Inn a bit further down the road. Yes, it was handy for location, but it was an uncomfortable trial from start to finish. No one values you here.
