What a lovely friendly hotel. Nice rooms, brilliant breakfast and a lovely pool. They couldn’t have been friendlier to our two kids (5 and 2 years old). Skala Kallonis is a great little village and the beachside restaurants are ideal for young children who get impatient sitting at a table. Would highly recommend.

Stayed here for a week recently. George was very smiley, cheerful and helpful. Our room was quite a good size with a fridge, kettle etc. However no tea or coffee or sugar and no water in the fridge. We had to buy water for the room every day. The bathroom was clean but dated with a shower curtain over the bath and the nozzles on the spa bath were quite dirty. The towels were clean but very old and threadbare..in fact my cats sleep on better towels in their beds. The safe was situated right at the top and back of a tall wardrobe, my husband could only just reach it by standing on a chair..had I been with a friend or daughter no way could we have used this facility. Breakfast was quite basic, no fresh fruit on offer. Porridge oats were there but no means of making porridge as no hot water or hot milk. The juice was like squash. The pool was lovely, very clean with plenty of sunbeds. However pool towels came at a €5 charge to cover laundry costs (much nicer towels than in room)..pizzas at lunch were delicious but unfortunately the bar wasn't open after 9pm which was a shame as we met some lovely people. Sadly, I had a small bag of jewellery "disappear" from the room on the one day I forgot to lock it in my case. The maid denied taking it but after thorough searches of the room, it was gone. She was the only person to enter the room. I was very upset. Good points and bad points for this hotel and definitely not a 4*. Skala Kalloni is lovely however and a car essential for seeing the island. Would return for bird watching in Spring but probably not to this hotel.
