This was our first visit to Elie and The Ship Inn. We stayed in the Admiral Nelson room - top floor with amazing views out over the beach and harbour area, a large comfortable room with a large ensuite. We ate dinner elsewhere but the breakfast was so delicious (smoked haddock omlette and fresh bakery produced bread) that I would be keen to return and stay for dinner.

Lovely stay. Staff are fantastic. Slightly on the expensive side but have a captive audience and is a beautiful place. Also drink prices are really reasonable. Breakfast was fab. Would come back. If I was to be picky, I would like to see robes/slippers in the room and hair conditioner. Parking is where you can find a space on a side street. All in all, would recommend.

We recently stayed two nights in the fabulous Ship Inn! We have stayed often over the last 22 years and it never disappoints! Our Captains room was very comfortable .. all that you would need/ expect..and more. Very smart en-suite! And the view from our room was just wonderful.. aided by the wonderful winter sun weather we had. We ate one night in the lovely upstairs restaurant and the second night in the warm cosey bar beside the fire. The menu was extensive and excellent. Breakfast was superb! It is very difficult to pick one member of staff out when the level of service was really outstanding… But a special mention is due to LizzieAnn who we encountered in various settings and she was so pleasant and helpful!

Fabulous stay in a fabulous location. Sea views, amazing food, gorgeous spacious room, lovely staff, outside terrace for drinks overlooking the sea, can’t wait to book another visit. Thanks for accommodating our dietary requirements.

Had a great time, meeting great people. Lovely place, great food and very friendly staff. If you want a fun evening with drinks involved, you HAVE to stay over. Nic and cosy rooms with a great view over the bay in the morning. The breakfast gets you ready for the day ahead.

Lovely staff , so helpful with bags out of car etc.. Gorgeous room .. everything just perfect. The bath is super & with a Scottish field magazine to read just a luxury! View stunning of course! Breakfast also excellent quality. Only thing was a camomile tea bag for night time would have been good!

It was truly a magical stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful. The Inn was exactly what you would expect and more. The food was delicious. The location was beautiful and the sunsets magnificent. The rooms were quaint and very clean. I would highly recommend staying here!

Pleasant rooms with excellent en-suite facilities. Towels nice and fluffy, bedside table adequate though needs a coat of paint. Views over the beach unbeatable. Only thing that we thought could be improved was the beside lights, which could have been brighter.

The Ship is one of a kind - location, staff and atmosphere all amazing. Food isn’t the cheapest, but definitely worth the money and our room was extremely comfortable. We’ve been back every year for the last few years and don’t intend to stop anytime soon!
