White Hart Hotel

We decided to use the leisure facility if you can call it that I was told no towels by reception so he got one from another room asi again expressed I was not happy.  I was tetchy as I had driven from Worcestershire to Cornwall then to Brighton. I asked about the steam room and sauna which he pointed us to.  He said steam room needed to follow instructions and it was quick to turn on.  I said OK.  When we got to the sauna it was cold and turned off by this point and having seen the state of the facilities I was way past been pissed off on this.  I was also feeling bad as I wanted my son to relax before his audition in the morning.  The steam room heated up in 5/10 mins so used that which was nice.  The spa bath was not hot at all and for some reason stones in the swimming pool possibly for effect.  The pictures of the leisure facility show the state of disrepair.

Never been to such a disgusting room in my life, how they have the nerve to let this room out was beyond me, the carpet was dated filthy and lumpy, pillows stains all over them, broken chair, chipped mugs, the list goes on, they should have paid us £92 to stay there, I wouldn’t let a dog stay there, needless to say we did not stay and we have to get in touch with yourselves for a refund

Spooky and not clean. Needs a bit of a makeover

The White Hart now has an excellent restaurant to complement what appears to be very comfortable hotel accommodation. We were a table of 8 people and everyone was delighted with the service we received and the food that was served. Combined with a slightly old world atmosphere enhanced by superb views across the downland to the south of the town, this will now be a regular venue for all of us.

Very big and busy. Strong food smells, your clothes end up sneezing of cooking. They need a decent extractor fan in the kitchen. Food was ok, nothing amazing and expensive! Very loud inside, difficult to have a conversation. Looks good inside.

We went for drinks. The minute we opened the door the smell of food was overwhelming. 2 hours after leaving our clothes smell the same. Wine, beer and staff all fine. We are due to go again tomorrow, hope the extraction in the kitchens might be better.

Excellent first visit to this newly refurbished restaurant and hotel. Great atmosphere on arrival and plenty of (perhaps newly trained) helpful staff around. Menu was very good and the food and wine we chose tasted excellent and was beautifully presented. Will definitely be back and would recommend to others.

Newly redeveloped and much improved. Have been a few times for a drink and once for lunch with a large party of family. Friendly, helpful staff, and good food too. Only quibble has been the inside temperature - way too warm but that is a minor complaint and I'm sure it will be a great success.

A wonderful venue in central Lewes for a good meal, with a great atmosphere. There is a large selection of food to cover all tastes - served by the lovely staff - all making for a great night out. There is no parking on site but plenty of car parks nearby and you can often park in the High Street. Definitely a good addition to Lewes eateries.
