Location is great and with secure parking. We had excellent rooms, the reception and overall service was really good, the hosts were very welcoming. The restaurant food both in the evening and breakfast was wonderful. The bar was well stocked and overall made to feel very welcome

Didn't stay, but will be returning for a couple of nights. Happened to call in for a drink, but there was a private party on, it was the the first birthday of the hotel, we were welcomed and fed, what a fantastic atmosphere, a disco, the food we tasted was first class, the hosts were warm, friendly and welcoming, we remembered it in its previous life, what a change, great decor, can't wait to return, and if you're a real ale drinker, great, we'll kept beers on pumps too.

Had a wonderful evening meal at Middle House. A warm welcome as we were asked where we would like to sit. We chose the bar where there was a lovely open fire burning. We were promptly asked what drinks we would like. The food we ordered was well presented, hot and extremely tasty. My husband is Coeliac but was very well catered for. We would definitely recommend Middle House.

We loved our 2 night stay at Middle House in the wonderful village of Askrigg and would definitely return as its the perfect base for exploring this beautiful area. All staff were friendly and delivered service with a smile. The bar, restaurant and rooms were spotlessly clean. It's clear to see the owner has an eye for attention to detail. We ate on 1 evening and both thoroughly enjoyed our chosen dishes, special mention though for the breakfasts which were superb and set us up for the days walking.

Excellent meal in lovely friendly surroundings. Staff are super efficient and welcoming. Partner has a gluten allergy and was spoilt for choice on the menu. Gluten free beer also available. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation 👍

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying for 2 nights at the exquisite Middle House in Askrigg in November 2024. We needed to alter our booking, and thus the faultless customer service began - even from prior to our check-in. John and the team have created a classy, welcoming but cosy atmosphere throughout Middle House, which makes for a very convivial and comfortable stay. The food is absolutely exceptional. Ingredients of the highest quality are cooked to perfection, served promptly, and by polite and pleasant staff. Middle House has been polished up to be a hidden gem at the gateway to the Yorkshire Dales. Congratulations to John and the team, and many thanks to you all.

My husband and I stopped here for 2 nights. We were warmly welcomed and checked in promptly. The room was a superior double and bigger than I expected, with a nice seating and TV area. It was spotlessly clean and warm, with a really comfortable bed and great views! . The shower was lovely - powerful, with plenty of hot water! We ate at the hotel one evening and had breakfast on both mornings. All the food was really delicious! Freshly cooked with generous portions and reasonably priced. All the staff we met were smiley, friendly and helpful 😊. The hotel has lots of walks on the door step . You might want to pop into the Bake well cafe for a tasty cake ! We will definitely be returning!

We went to The Middle House for dinner and it was wonderful. The bar, restaurant and hotel have recently been taken over and refurbished, and they have done a fantastic job. There’s a great selection of ales and an extensive menu. Highly recommended.
