Chosen to pay extra for a complex with 2 rooms and mountain view. Didn't know that only 1 room on the top floor gets the mountain view over the roof top of the row of rooms in front. 1st room assigned had to look at a shiny water drum on the roof top & asked to assign another room. Very over rated & disappointed that Banyan over promised & under deliver.

We truly enjoyed and loved our stay at the Banyan Tree, Lijiang. It’s a beautiful resort and we appreciate the upgrade from our suite to the villa. The overall resort is well maintained and we loved the ambience; quiet and beautiful. The villa is well maintained.

Beautiful resorts hotel, location is great! Just a few mins walk from 白沙古镇. The rooms are spacious and clean, tastefully decorated. Also, the hotel provides an international buffet breakfast, and the spread is good. Special thanks to all the service staff there, especially Norah, is friendly and polite and did her best to make our stays there a memorable one!

The hotel is conveniently located near 束河Old town.  It is clean, quiet and has beautiful gardens. We have booked a suite with balcony facing the Jade Dragon Snow mountain. Unfortunately, the view was partially blocked by overgrown trees from the yard. Wifi speed is slow. Suggest to install warm toilet seats as the weather is cold when we arrived. The friendly staff there however is helpful especially Coco 小唐 who personally ensure that any service request is readily looked after. Good job Coco!

I was impressed with the upgraded room type and excellent service provided by the front desk Cindy. She continues to check on me though it's her off day. The tour desk driver William is also very helpful and friendly. We communicated prior to my arrival on the places to visit from lijiang to Shangri LA and was happy he was able to be my driver that day and extended beyond his hours. Just a suggestion to banyan tree hotel to provide oxygenated bottles or equipment in the room will be very helpful since lijiang is on High altitude region.

The resort is nicely built and designed. Enjoyed the stay thoroughly. The breakfast was great wide range of foods, Chinese and western. Fruits were aplenty, complimentary bottled waters are replenished daily. Beds were comfortable but pillows were too soft to my liking. The room itself is a bit dated, front door is not properly aligned and closing it need to push harder. The cleaning person were not thorough enough, while the black marbled floor is clean, the carpet could not be said so as there were stains and foods stuff sticking to the carpet from previous customers.

5 🌟 resort and service. The staff was amazing! They went above and beyond. Charlotte and Cindy at the front desk helped answer our questions about what to see and how to make it possible. They were very professional and kind. We would visit again.

Hotel is as per advertised, amazing clean, hospitable, and tranquil. Amenities were complete and the rooms were big and cozy. Location wise, its en route to the Jade Dragon scenic spot and about half a kilometer to the Shunhe Old Town. Breakfast was nice but not comparable to the ones you get in Bali or Phuket. Spa service is also slightly above average - I feel the techniques in the south east asia hotels of similar rankings are better positioned/trained. Overall still a good stay and highly recommend it even on a high price point.

We had the pleasure of staying at Banyan Tree Lijiang for one night, and it was by far the highlight of our entire trip to Yunnan. We booked the Pool Villa with views overlooking the stunning Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the experience exceeded all expectations. What truly made our stay exceptional was the service, particularly from our butler, Abby. She went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. From providing insightful recommendations about local activities and city highlights to helping us plan our itinerary, Abby was incredibly attentive and professional. Her thoughtful touches made us feel like we were the only guests at the property, and we greatly appreciated her efforts in making our stay memorable. The entire resort is an oasis of calm, and we enjoyed exploring the beautifully landscaped grounds and the exceptional dining options. Banyan Tree Lijiang stands out as the best hotel we stayed at during our travels in Yunnan, thanks to the perfect combination of luxury, service, and setting. If you're looking for an unforgettable stay with unparalleled views, personalized service, and a tranquil atmosphere, Banyan Tree Lijiang is the place to be. Highly recommend!

Luxurious hotel, highly recommend the jet pool villa. Super helpful receptionist Norah helped us with getting tickets to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and gave us lots of tips.

This is our 2nd time. My first was back in 2018, and my husband and I were truly impressed. Hence, when we revisited Lijiang, Bayan Tree was out 1st choice. However, we were a bit disappointed this time round. The facilities were quite run down. A checklist of amenities was not provided, which is especially important when they are not complimentary. My room was not supplied with outdoor slippers, and the number of drinks in the fridge was not properly accounted for before our checkin, but we were queried about these items upon checkout. This experience left us with a bitter aftertaste.

Exceptional hotel, restaurant service excellent and food is great. Excellent location view to Jade Dragon Mountain.

Absolutely amazing experience for 4 days! Banyan Tree has one of the best service I ever experienced in China. After check in, Elin added our contact information and reached out on daily basis to make sure we had everything we needed. Hotel staffs were always able to go above and beyond to satisfy our requests. Kudos to all of them! The hotel also has stunning view of Yulong mountain and extremely well designed architecture. We pretty much spent most of time in the hotel. I also love the daily gifts provided by the hotel!

loved everything, hands down one of the best hotels we've ever been to. They even offer different types of pillows. so sad i didnt know the little tourtois was a gift amd left it behind...
