Hotel Palota Lillafured

This hotel is beautifully located at the edge of the national park, offering a stress-free environment. The helpful personnel speak English and provide excellent service. The hotel has been recently renovated. The wellness area and pool are meticulously clean, as are the rooms, which are also quiet and comfortable. The food, served in buffet style, is delicious— especially the soups and Hungarian stews. There are many places to visit nearby if you have a car, but it's also the perfect place to relax when it's raining. The hotel is popular with families with children as well as older couples. Highly recommended!

Beautiful hotel in beautiful location. The hotel itself is old but well kept. Gardens and terraces are green and full of flowers and trees. Food is plenty but average to Hungary. Stuff is welcoming, few speak English. Everything to do around is accessible by foot. That’s a forest trail, local village, some ancient caves and boats on the lake.

The room was comfortable and aesthetic though quite pricey. The hotel is in a beautiful location and the waterfalls around it are superb. But it seems that the hotel is just resting on the laurels of the beauty of its location and construction. The service except for the lady who checked us out (she was smiling, fast and supportive), and an elderly waiter was generally indifferent. . One has come to expect Room amenities are supposed to include drinking water that is not paid for. There wasn’t any drinking water provided in the room. We had to fill our glass with bathroom tap water No extra covers were provided overnight despite a request to reception over email and phone about 7-8 p.m. We woke up early morning due to the cold in the room and had to wear more clothes. The Dinner and Breakfast buffet, which was built into the cost was pedestrian, especially from a vegetarian eater's point of view. 4 items only, out of which rice was over an hour into the dinner. A room costing 94000 forints a night has poor insulation that lets in not only the cold but also occasional voices from the corridor/neighboring rooms. A beautiful hotel, marred by an indifferent communist-era level of customer service.

We’ve spent three days in the hotel. The palace is beautiful and the surroundings offer a variety of sights to see. The hotel has its own wellness, which is quite good. The rooms are cozy and offer what you expect from a four star hotel. The breakfast and the dinner is a bit disappointing though, the dishes lack imagination, so you’ll get easy to make Hungarian and international dishes. We’ve been to a Wine Dinner in Mátyás Restaurant. The variety of wines and dishes were good and the plates were designed and presented well, so if you have a chance I’d recommend trying something similar. Tip: The Lobby bar offers great iced tea.

Our room had a chemical smell. An other room wasn't offered by Management. Zero flexibility in Solution a Problem. The hotel looks fine BUT only outside. NEVER AGAIN. Worst experience in the last 20 years.

We have spent 2 nights/3 days , family with a 12 years old girl. The hotel has an amazing location, surrounded with green forest, a great lake, and a really quiet atmosphere. It is a historical building/palace with great interior spaces. It has a spacious paid parking lot. Rooms size was ok, spotless clean, good service. Food was enough and varied but on the lower end of a 4 star hotel. There is wellness facility too with 2 pools - for swimming and relax - , there are beauty facilities too, an indoor ping pong table and a few cardio machines too. The location is a quiet place just good for relaxing.
