Gran Hotel Bolivar

We stayed here for the location and historical aspect. We paid a lot extra for a large suite so we could have AC. First night there was no AC in the living room. Not so bad as we slept in the bedroom. The problem occurred when we found out we had a major emergency at home and had to leave. I understand charging us for the first one as their policy is 48 hrs. But the second night they would not refund because I called at 5 PM on Sat. (So paid for Sunday) but the said check in for Monday was 3 PM so I was 2 hours late in calling. I hope they never have a horrible tragedy happen and have to leave a planned 6 week vacation! NO HEART! The hotel is worth walking through for the history a a very good Pisco sour, but it is just too old to be representing itself as anything grand. Staff was very pleasant although very UNDERSTAFFED. Management is horrible.

We came to Gran Hotel Bolivar for its famous pisco sour and it did not disappoint. We ordered two different flavors. Both were really good. They were much stronger than the cocktails I'm used to. The view of the streets from the bar was very good too.

I love the Bolivar, have stayed there twice. It's a bit tired in places but that's ok, part of the charm of staying in an old hotel. I found all the staff lovely and helpful and the room was clean, the Chamberlain did an excellent job. The breakfast was not very exciting. Coffee, juice and eggs, fried boiled or scrambled. A slice of cheese and a slice of cheap reconstituted ham came with the eggs. This is called an American breakfast. They could do better. If staying on a Friday or Saturday beware that music from street, shouting and cars honking go on all night. The hotel windows are single glazed and ear plugs are a must. The Bolivar is a charming hotel, I always aim to stay there when in Lima.

A Legendary place that is open since 1924 all the celebrities from Spain and Latin America were there, lots of actors and actresses from Mexico especially Maria Felix La Doña. It's a must-do in Lima Go for the Pisco Catedral

Das wohl schönste Hotel in Lima. Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und von hier kann man alle Sehenswürdigkeiten in den Hauptplatz zu Fuß erkunden. Ein wunderbarer Lobbybereich und sehr freundliche Gastgeber! Wir waren auf einen Pisco Sour vor Ort!

Ein äußerst geschichtsträchtiges Hotel im Zentrum von Lima. In den 70er/80er Jahren war es der Treffpunkt der Hautevolee - Stars haben sich die Klinke in die Hand. Seither wurde nicht mehr viel getan/investiert. Aber vielleicht ist gerade dies der Charme des Granhotel Bolivar. Ein Besuch im Museum!

No vengo al bar del Gran Hotel Bolívar desde hace unos meses y me encuentro que el precio se ha incrementado mucho. Muy excesivo el precio del pisco sour catedral, 48 soles??? La comida es muy buena, el pisco también es excelente pero deberían considerar regular el precio a él pisco sour.

Después de un tiempo fui al bar del hotel una sábado por la tarde para pedir un café como otras veces y lo que me encontré fue todo lleno, tragos en casi todas las mesas, música a volumen y al mozo preguntándome, con mirada extrañada, si yo estaba seguro de que quería un café. Al final me lo trajeron de mala gana y medio frío. Cambiaron para mal. Nunca más volveré. Una pena.
