Summer in Litang · Starry Sky Courtyard

The hostel is very well located at walking distance from Litang’s sightseeing area Beds are comfortable (8 female dorm) albeit with thin sleeping mats, there is a light and an international socket, the curtains allow for good privacy. There are no lockers so the room can get crammed I had the feeling the room had not been cleaned recently and my bedsheets did not feel freshly washed The squat toilets had no water for flushing during the night and were in a pretty bad condition in the morning (but maybe there was a technical issue as later in the day the water was back) The adjoining Route 318 Museum (free) is very interesting, don’t miss it

Best affordable place to stay in Litang. Everyone and everything was so nice! They have a really good museum about the Route 318 for free. Close to all the spots!

Bad points: - When we checked in we found the garbage bag from the previous users inside our room - The toilet smells bad, and you can easily smell it even from the bed. - Although the staff is willing to help regardless of the language barrier, we were quite disappointed as we asked the staff to order a taxi to the bus station the day before we left, and the staff there told us it was ordered, and that they would call the next morning again to remind the taxi service of our trip. When we woke up and when to pick up the taxi there was no taxi nor receptionist. We had to ask another member of the staff which after some calls (and 20 min of waiting) told us there was no taxi and that we had to walk or get a taxi on the roadside. Lucky for us we had still some time until the bus, and we managed to find a taxi after walking for a little bit, but if we had been tight on time we would have missed our bus. Good points: - Nice location, close to monastery and old town.
