My family and I stayed here for a week over Christmas with my French bulldog. As it was rather hot we often left the dog inside the cottage while we were out and the cottage was very set up for us to do so. We were a bit nervous was to how the farm animals would react to our dog but they must have been so used to dogs because they couldn’t care less. We saw cows ( my fave animal), sheep, wombats, kangaroos, kookaburras, and many more different animals and each one was so beautiful. This place is the place to come to for the Australiana vibes. The river was just as gorgeous and was perfect for tubing or just a dip. The guy who owns this place was a great bloke who gave us tips on were to go tubing, lent us a rubber tube for the week, told us a bit about the farm, and was just overall a great guy to chat to. He even gave my brother and I a branded hat at the end. The whole scenery and vibes of the farm was perfect for a break away from everything. If you’re thinking of coming to Tumut, with or within your dog, The Elms Cottages is the place to stay.

Stayed here for a much needed quiet Xmas break with family of 4. Location is simply stunning. Views from every cottage are breathtaking. We barely saw anyone the entire time however owner Dave was very welcoming and made sure we knew where he was if we needed anything. They even provided us with some river tubes which was a great way to cool down. Cottage had all things needed for a self catering holiday however I would recommend you bring your own tea and coffee. Air conditioning kept us cool and beds were very comfortable. Full sized oven meant we were able to cater for a special Xmas lunch. The teenagers loved the river and we enjoyed seeing lots of wildlife including wombats, kangaroos, rabbits, kookaburras and the farm animals were also a hit with the kids. If you are looking for a quiet place to truely unwind and get away from it all then this is the place for you.

Peaceful, tranquil setting. Truly a slice of heaven. Self contained cottages where you can enjoy the land and river without hardly running into others. We had 2 dogs with us. They slept inside the cottage. We bought blankets to cover the lounges so they could sit with us. We did lots of walking around the hillsides and enjoyed the pristine Goobarragandra River for 3 days. Gorgeous place. We also did day trips to Batlow, Laurel Hill and Tumbarumba whilst there.

We stayed in the Rivers Edge Cottage for 5 days and what an absolute haven! The cottage was lovely and very pet friendly. Huge fenced yard - beautiful flowing river, so much wildlife - blue wrens, king parrots, crimson rosella, cockatoos and magpies singing to us each morning and afternoon. Wombats and elusive platypus. Hosts Deb and David were wonderful. David took my husband on a sculpture tour around the property and they have provided little luxuries for the stay for us and our dogs! Highly recommended if you want some serenity in a stunning natural environment at the base of the snowy mountains!
