City Studios - Rodney Street

Accommodation NOT TO BOOK! They practice overbooking on this accommodation (info received from the receptionist). Indeed, until my arrival very late at night, I found myself facing the CityStudios accommodation. No one to greet me or code received to enter. I contacted them in the middle of the night and they told me that my reservation had been relocated 20 minutes walk to a student accommodation! So I had not received any information about this change. So my stay had to be at the Stanley Court Student Accommodation… with a terrible check-in: I enter my apartment and there was already someone inside, I am given another accommodation and the code is wrong. The entrance of the Student Accommodation is often occupied by strange and smoking people, I had not noticed immediately that it was the entrance of my accommodation! I didn’t feel safe. In addition, the units are occupied by people sometimes residing during the year, so you can hear dogs screaming. I arrived on the evening of what seemed to be garbage collection, full of garbage cans littering the hallways in front of each apartment with a foul smell. The dishes in the apartment are dirty and must be cleaned before I use them. The hallways and elevators are also not clean. In the end I must have paid more than the value of this accommodation, overbooking is not a correct practice! The establishment never answered my complaint emails, fortunately the Trip.com service helped me very well.

City Studios, Rodney Street, is an excellent location in Liverpool - easily accessible for cultural and city attractions. The system for gaining access to the property worked well, in that the access codes came in good time and were fairly easy to use. The studio was lovely and warm, comfortable and clean, with good kitchen facilities. The only thing wrong was that the shower didn't work, although there was plenty of hot water. As we were only staying one night, we didn't ask for help with this, as we only found out quite late in the evening. If we'd been staying longer, we would have contacted the help number, and I'm sure something would have been done about it. We would use this venue again.

I booked 2 rooms here for a family event, but when we eventually got the correct codes for rooms and front door, there was already someone in one of the rooms! I spent all day on the phone, as I was sent a phone number no longer connected to the network and had to ring another hotel who passed me on to someone who also couldn’t help, eventually we got the information we needed. At 7pm in the evening they found us another room in another hotel, but it messed up our visit to Liverpool. The down stairs room we had next to the front door, enabled us to hear everyone coming in and out and traffic driving passed at all hours. It was however clean.

We stayed here this month. This company is horrendous. No idea how to check in and after many phone calls, dealing with a very rude woman, we eventually got in. Upon leaving recieved an aggressive email demanding money for damages as someone was supposedly smoking in the room (No one smokes). They guy demanded the money and wa smoking threats of court action after 1 day with no evidence receipts or anything. Do not stay in this place

I booked for a group of 12 older gentleman 6 weeks ago through ***********. I tried several times through email to ask them about wheelchair accessibility but received no response. The balance was paid to them 5 days ago but received no instructions on how to check in. One telephone number I was given was not in service and the other never answered. Then at 9pm last night (less than 24 hours before my booking was due to start) someone contacted me to say that they were full and were cancelling my booking. The only alternative offered being to split our group up and have half of us staying 5 miles out of the city centre. When I explained that our group were from out of town, had no transport of their own and some had mobility issues they offered us no assistance. I now have 12 gentlemen arriving in Liverpool this morning who have paid for accommodation, but have nowhere to stay, so will have to pay again for somewhere else at last minute rates. This company is an absolute joke.
