Housel Bay Hotel

Another warm welcome from the team; an excellent tasting menu meal and a couple of warm & cosy nights overlooking the bay, watching seals and passing ships. Looking forward to our next visit already, whatever the coastal weather can throw at us!

This quaint hotel perched on cliffs overlooking the ocean is in such a prime spot for walkers and hikers alike plus it has a lovely restaurant and bar .. The restaurant is open for breakfast and dinner plus afternoon tea. I had a room with a view of the ocean plus the Lizard Lighthouse.. And one morning we did have fog and the obligatory foghorn .. ( they do provide earplugs ) A good size room with an ensuite albeit a bit on the small side,it was still very usable. The only thing that it had that I wasn’t keen on was the shower over the bath…but, many hotels are like that in the UK and quite often there isn’t always an alternative especially in a small town. All the staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. There is a lift to get you and your suitcase up to whatever level you are on but, only room for one person.Still it was better then facing the stairs with a heavy suitcase.The bar was open to guests and locals alike. A Very clean and comfortable hotel.. A great spot to kick off your sightseeing of that part of the coast….

The hotel is beautifully situated near the coast and the coastal path with wonderful views. The panoramic rooms with views of the ocean, cliffs and fields are very pleasant and I would recommend choosing them. I think some of the other rooms are small. The food was excellent - we ate in The Terrace not in their Fallowfields restaurant ( but that set multi-course menu looked wonderful). All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I think it is an ideal place to stay as long as you don't want to be in a town with many restaurants and activities. Definitely a hotel which I hope to revisit.

Enjoyed a very pleasant evening meal in the terrace restaurant. Beautifully situated - stunning views across the most southerly point in Britain. Nice food, fairly good service and reasonably priced. Lovely restaurant to view a sun-set from.

Had a wonderful stay here. ♥️ The staff were so so friendly and the food was amazing! 🫶 The only thing I would say is my room was very small and I really couldn't fit all my stuff in there from hiking, which was a shame. I know people give solo travellers the smaller rooms but this I felt was a bit too small and the pillows weren't quite as nice as I would hope. That being said, I would still highly recommend this hotel!! Perfect for hikers like myself. Right outside the hotel is the coastal route and the views are to die for!

We called in for a drink and were made to feel so welcome by the manager. The conversation was so easy. We felt at home immediately, it felt like a home from home! “Alfie” was so professional and answered any queries which we had with an obvious knowledge of the local area. It was so clear that he loved working in the hotel and this was evident through the passion with which he spoke. It’s clear he’s loved working in this industry for many years. This was so lovely to hear and we would definitely love to return to the beautiful Housel Bay.
