Maenan Abbey Hotel

Made very welcome by David the owner on arrival. Evening meals and breakfast were superb. Spacious room although a bit warm even with the central heating off, opening the window cured that and all okay. Highly recommend the Snowdon Lager from the well stocked bar. Very central for visiting places in North Wales.

Stayed here for the second year for New Year’s Eve & the day after Dave & staff are brilliant It’s a place to stay - a home away from home Gorgeous views, lovely room as-well as food Can’t wait to stay here for our third new year Nat & Chris Will book again very soon 😊😊

We visited today for Sunday lunch and were so impressed. We all had delicious 3 course meals with coffee for £22.50 each. The staff were very friendly and we were served our coffee in the lovely lounge with a real fire in the hearth. If you are in the area this is certainly a place not to be missed.

The hotel is a little tired especially in the bedrooms and cold when we stayed there The staff however are excellent and very friendly We decided to eat in the restaurant twice during our two night stay and once again the staff were excellent and the food was quality with a good varied menu

Stayed one night with my partner and our very excited golden retriever. We had a fabulous time. The building itself is very beautiful and in a lovely area, 10 mins from Betwys y Coed. The rooms are decorated in keeping with the style of the building, I’m glad they haven’t modernised it too much as it has so much character. The rooms were clean and tidy, on check in they upgraded us to a bigger room so we had plenty of space for the dog. We stayed in room one which was lovely and spacious with a jucauzzi bath. We enjoyed a lovely 2 course meal which was incredible, and very very reasonably priced. I can’t believe the amount that was on the menu, steak, lamb, duck all beautifully presented. They have a lovely lounge area with an open fire. The dog was allowed in the bar whilst we ate our meals and in the lounge. The best part about our stay was the service. David the manager was so accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The lady at breakfast was also very polite, friendly and great sense of humour. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to all our family and friends. Take the bad reviews with a pinch of salt, we couldn’t fault our stay at all.

We stopped here for dinner and had a fabulous Sunday roast. The service and food were top quality. Will definitely be returning. We had our dog with us and although we couldn’t eat in the restaurant we ate in the bar side which serves from the same menu. The building and gardens are beautiful.
