Nant Yr Odyn Country Hotel & Restaurant Ltd

Fabulous centrally located hotel. Lovely staff, very welcoming. Lovely food in the restaurant for breakfast & dinner. Lovely rooms, a little dated but fabulous for the price & spotlessly clean. Plenty of parking. So good we have already booked to go back!

This is a little Gem. Very warm welcome staff all are excellent. The room we stayed was great lovely views of the Snowdonia mountains. Cleanliness was excellent.Great value for money. On a personal note as a Welsh speaker who lives away and doesn't have much chance of speaking my language it was so lovely to converse with the staff. The staff very helpful booking our taxi as was in the area for a wedding. We had breakfast both morning which was nicely presented. We will be coming back.

The restaurant offering was excellent. A lovely welcoming ambiance and lovely food. The menu choice was good and value for money was also good. The food was really delicious and well presented and I can’t wait to go again. Plenty of roast potatoes and a selection of vegetables to accompany the meal. I had the nut roast and it was so good. My husband had the beef and said it was tender and tasty.

Well where do I start! How about a very warm welcome from the staff and an excellent bar service with a multitude of local beverages to tempt us. I settled for a Abber Falls Gin which was a great start to proceedings. Our party of ten were presented with a neat and tidy well balanced menu and the choices made. What was to follow was completely unexpected…. The request for a wine list brought a prompt choice of a perfectly chilled bottle of Montagne and served in a real ice bucket without request. How very refreshing these days. The choice of red was a brilliant Medoc and a 2010 at that. Even without decanting but it was absolutely delicious out of the bottle. My starter of Garlic King prawns were simply fantastic and cooked to perfection, as were all of the other choices around the table. No baskets of bread required here and excellent portions brought great satisfaction to the conclusion of starters. The menu gave two beef choices, one being a local filet and the alternative a sirloin. Opting for a rare filet I could not have been happier when it arrived. A super generous cut and rare to perfection. Talk about melt in the mouth an absolute taste sensation. The accompanying wrapped asparagus and local baked sliced potatoes worked perfectly and despite me not taking advantage of an available sauce, three mustard options appeared in front of me to select from if required. Bravo all concerned but certainly a huge well done to Head Chef “Rich Netherlands” for clearly having immense pride in what he delivers to the tables. Absolutely brilliant and totally unexpected.

We visited Nant yr Odyn for a superb Sunday lunch served after the christening of our friends' son. But because we had travelled down from the Fylde Coast in Lancashire, we decided to stay over as well. Before our stay we requested a cot in our room so that our two year old granddaughter could stay over with us and return home later in the week. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff at Nant yr Odyn. The Sunday roast was absolute top class and plentiful. After the party, we went to our room which was spacious and beautifully appointed and the cot was there ready for us. Mid evening, after a polite knock at the door, we were asked if there was anything else they could do. We asked for a couple of tuna and mayo sandwiches and, ten minutes later, they arrived. They were lovely and the staff had even prepared an extra one for our granddaughter. The cost was £5.50 which we thought was a steal bearing in mind the quality. After an excellent night's sleep, we prepared to go home but not before having a wonderful breakfast of fruit juice, cereal, yoghurt, toast and cooked breakfast along with tea and coffee. A special plate was prepared for our granddaughter too. When we were about to set off, our granddaughter was given a banana and a bottle of water for the journey. We cannot thank Kathryn, and the rest of the staff at Nant yr Odyn, enough. Such a fine example of making us feel like part of the family. We will definitely go back to the "Nantastic" venue.

Having been bought up on Anglesey my entire childhood right up until my early 20's, I knew of Nant Yr Odyn and had actually worked there for a short but beautiful time. It was therefore inevitable, that I introduced where I used to live to my boyfriend. Arrived to visit my parents grave at the beautiful church yards away, we entered the beautiful entrance where we were greeted with such a warm welcome. Escorted to our immaculate room we took in the view of Snowdonia mountain on a beautiful sunny day. We ventured out to visit my family and returned to a pre booked table, where we ate the most deliciously prepared and presented meal. We continued the evening in the area in the garden. Would recommend for anyone, wishing to have a relaxing stay on Anglesey with outstanding views, delicious food and attentive staff. Can not wait to visit again this coming weekend, this time for 2 nights. Thank you so much and see you soon 😊
