Tafarn Y Rhos

Stayed for the weekend last wk, had a really good time, lovely owners, lovely staff, great food & proper portions too lol, i stayed B&B with 2 of my friends, breakfast great & all the food was so fresh, I could eat one of those lamb shanks right now haha, the chefs were really friendly, lovely local pub with a B&B, rooms were great too & spotless, amazing views, could not recommend this place enough, thank you for a lovely stay & hopefully be back in a few months 😊

Great home cooked food. There simply isn’t anywhere locally that rivals the quality of food and value for money of Tafarn Y Rhos. The burgers are great and homemade chips are next level. Good portion sizes too. Great selection of beers and ales.

We stayed for one night to attend a funeral.We were not expecting great things as the room price was so reasonable,but we were blown away with their hospitality.What a fantastic team they have.Emily went the extra mile for us by upgrading our room to a bigger one,so we were more comfortable.The lady who served our breakfast made us feel like we were guests in her home she was so friendly and nothing was too much trouble.Massive thank you folks.Forgot to mention the beds were super comfy,the whole room was immaculate.The only negative would be that the bathrooms need updating.

Lets start with the good points. The food in the bar and breakfast is excellent. Service was also good. Now the bad poins. The temperature outside was minus 4 C, and the room had no heating. Actually, it does have a 'booster' system, whereby you press a button and the heat comes on for about 15 - 25 minutes, then goes off. If more heat is required, the button needs to be pressed again. I asked about this heating and was told there's nothing the management can do as I had already paid. It was the coldest hotel room I've ever stayed in! No way could I get up every few minutes to get some heat! The bathroom had no heat whatsoever! I asked for help, but nothing was offered. I was told the heating system was 'inherited' when the hotel was purchased. I suspect in the summer, there would be no problem. I asked the hotel for a refund of the room fee for one night as compensation, but received no reply. Bottom line, management should look at the heating arrangments, and at least offer a portable heater!

Looks lovely from the outside...Nice once you get in.food was good despite my friend having to send her food back as it was cold (steak and ale pie) However, bad points....smokers congregated at the main doors....and not just on the outside...actually within the entrance to the pub....not good as I could still smell smoke...not nice when your eating....also...unfortunately there was a bunch of men of various ages who were really loud to the point where we Coundnt hear each other talk! In saying all this the place is nice enough and the food was plentiful portion sizes. I think management and the staff working the bar need to address the smoking situation 🤔

Very poor customer service. The attitude of the staff was so disappointing. Such a shame that so many young staff with no experience. No sign of any management to respond to concerns. Food was nice and good value for money. They need to try harder if they want people to return.
