Terrible Service; staff not trained how this place is 5 stars is beyond me. The location is great but it’s an older hotel that is now being renovated. If we were given a heads up or warned I would have understood but they gave us no forewarning and when we got there we felt like we were staying on a construction site. The pool and pool bar area was a complete building site, jack hammering starts at 8am, only serve (mediocre) drinks at the pool so we had to go up the hill to the title to get your own food. When we did this and brought the food down to the pool they had forgotten to put any utensils in the bag, when we asked the pool bar manager for cutlery he said he didn’t have any and we had to go get our own. What an absolute joke, clearly the staff are frustrated by the condition of the hotel and the fact people are actually staying there at the same time. There were dozens of builders, heavy duty construction equipment all over the pool area. Even Dangerous tools left lying around that someone could get seriously hurt by. No toilets at the pool so had to go to a nearby restaurant. We stayed in room 132, 50% of the ocean view is blocked by overgrown bushes, we music blasting in the area outside our room all night. Housekeeping accidentally removed one of our duvet so we were short.

Where do I start? We had hoped for a few more nights at the end of our trip in Barcelona again. But the rates for rooms went from $300 to close to $1000 a night so we looked to the Coast. This hotel was a little over an hour drive to Barcelona. It is a special place and the rates were low since it was off season. Our room was luxurious--most comfortable bed and classic decor. We had a room with a seaview and just wow. The view was like we were on an movie set...picture perfect. The hotel itself is a resort...with a private beach, pool, spa, sprawling lounge areas with fires roaring in their fireplaces. For our 30th anniversary, the sent us a bottle of Cava and the most delectable cookies which was perfect before our romantic dinner in their outstanding restaurant. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing and eating the most abundant and truly delicious breakfast buffet on our trip. We were able to drive to Barcelona to see Sagrada one day, and the next checked out Tossa de Mar. We relaxed the afternoon the day before we left on their beach (which was basically all ours) and using their beautiful spa....don't miss the water treatment!
