The standard of food was so poor, the worst I have ever experienced. Staff were utterly unengaging, the rooms are basic, dusty and require attention. How this hotel ever got a rating above 2 star amazes me. Complete rip off, avoid at all costs.

Hotel and grounds spotlessly clean but the set up is a joke. You have to leave the hotel and go to another one for main meals and full range of all inclusive drinks. There are notices telling you not to reserve sun beds as towels will be removed but this did not happen once in the week we were there. The annoying thing was we were early to the water park every morning and nearly all the sun beds had towels on but you didn't see anyone on them until nearly lunch time. The bathroom was another joke no plug in the bath or sink and the shower head fixed to the wall about a foot above the bath so if you wanted a shower you had to hold it. The bath was small and hard work. We had to leave the hotel at 7 am to catch our transfer back to the airport and couldn't even get a coffee before we left. We have been to Lloret de Mar a few times now as we love the area and I can honestly say I won't be stopping here again.

In my honest opinion this hotel is far from 4 stars We arrived and got our transfer that was supposed to take 35 minutes. Ended up 2 hours . When we got to the hotel we was basically in a street . I then with 2 kids and suitcases has to drag these up a massive hill . Then to be told we was in the next hotel . So again had to walk up steps and hill to get to our hotel . Couldn’t check in till 1 and all of reception area was full of 18 -25 yrs olds sleeping on the sofas . The food was awful and the snacks was disgusting. The entertainment was ok but could have been on earlier 9.30 it started. The location was near the shops and beach . I didn’t like the area myself just full of rubbish and fag nubs . The beach is grit and awful . The water park is clean but if all inclusive have to pay for drinks . And yet again a steep hill to get up and down . I wasn’t keen on this hotel and definitely is not for families or kids . There was a lot of clubbers and they just slept all around hotel . Lack of sunbeds too . Limited food uncomfortable beds . Wouldn’t return. Should be just a 18-30 h hotel not for kids .

We stayed at the Gran Garbi Mar from 29th May for a week. 5 Adults and 4 kids. All inclusive. The rooms were basic but clean. Continental breakfast is available in this hotel or you can walk across the road to the sister hotel for a hot breakfast buffet. Lunch and dinner are also served at the sister hotel. The food was really nice, loads of choice even for the fussy eaters and even gluten free was advertised on the relevant dishes. The aquapark opened on the 1st June and was really good for all ages. The lifeguards were so friendly and even participated in a few races with the kids down the slides. The drinks on all inclusive were basic at this pool compared to the pool at the sister hotel. We always managed to get a sunbed but I could imagine in the summer holidays that it would be more difficult. The beach was a 5 minute walk away and there were local shops opposite the Gran Garbi hotel. The entertainment which was ran by Sergio was really good fun, he got everyone involved in the games round the pool and even the aqua aerobics. He made sure to remember everyone’s names and you could tell he really enjoyed getting to know the guests and making them feel welcome.

I didn’t read reviews until after I booked the holiday and started to worry I had made the wrong decision. However I needed have worried at all. I read that people had been stolen from by housekeeping staff, the food was terrible the night manager was rude and shouted at you and that rooms were dirty. None of this applied to us. We had a great time. All the staff were friendly, there was lots of choices of foods to eat, we liked the snacks and we sampled lots of the drinks and cocktails/mocktails were lush. Lucas on reception was an absolute gem so friendly and helpful. To be fair all the reception staff were great, I just don’t know their names. Our room provided everything we needed the water park was so much fun and with no one reserving sun bed it wasn’t a 5am mad dash to put towels out. Yes it is situated on a hill which lots of reviews moaned about, but nothing can be done to change the landscape. If you cut through the sister hotel to get to the beach it’s a much easier walk so we really didn’t see the problem others stayed they had. This is definitely a place I would return to with my children. Garbi Mar you were an absolute pleasure

staff are incredible and very helpful. Fantastic water park in the back of the hotel way. Would definitely go again with the family cleaning service was amazing every day and the hotel reception were always helpful whenever I needed them.

This hotel was cheap and cheerful but we had a fabulous family holiday. The hotel is basic but you get what you pay for! Staff are all lovely amd very accommodating. Rooms basic but comfortable and clean (sometimes we had a slight damp smell but it went when the patio doors were open and air came in). We had to go a short distance to the sister hotel for dinner and entertainment (5 meters) but it was not a problem. Great selection of delicious food and entertainment which we all loved. The highlight is the aqua park at this hotel. It's well organised and fantastic fun for all ages. We had age 3 - 80 years old with us. Town and nice beach nearby but beware the hotel is on a hill. Its easier to walk through sister hotel. There are various ways to avoid the steep hill. I would recommend this hotel as there is a very good chance we will be back!

Lovely hotel. I wish I could have brought some of my nieces and nephews to the hotel. The highlight of the hotel is the aquapark at the back. The rooms were spotless. The breakfast offering could be a little better. There is a lovely bar la Tasca down the street which does great coffees and pan con tomate for breakfast.

Clean hotel with very friendly staff, limited food options. Went to gran garbi with friends and their two children, the rooms are basic but clean hairdryer, air conditioning, safe and TV as standard. Rooms cleaned daily with new towels and linen every 2 days. We were half board so breakfast was in this hotel and only had cold continental breakfast options very limited for dinner we had to go down the hill 5 minute walk to the sister hotel and there are hot food options, the dining area seats 400 and accommodates both hotels so is very hectic. The food is not great and we ended up eating elsewhere. The aquasplash and pool area are in this hotel but are shared with sister hotel so are really busy. The pool bar has very limited food options and all are pre packed. Overall value for money is reasonable but an exceptionally busy spot difficult to unwind if that what you are looking for
