Gili Air Bungalows

I was skeptical before booking but wow I was pleasantly surprised when I entered the property. It's well maintained and very clean. The swimming pool is gleaming and is very inviting. Breakfast is around 700m of walking at the beach at their other property and very very good. You get a full three course breakfast and the staff are really attentive and nice. The star of the show is of course Herman. He showed us different rooms and made sure we are comfortable and satisfied with the room. Their other property looks good too ( coco breeze ) but we preferred gili bungalows because it's quiet. The other guy at reception is just as friendly and respectful. I will surely return. Last but not least. The beds are so comfortable and it's always something I worry about. Thanks Herman. You are fantastic. I will tell my friends in South Africa to stay here.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gili Air Bungalows. The room was very clean and spacious. Great shower, nice pool and plenty of sun beds. Breakfast was great although we had to travel to a restaurant some distance away. was very helpful. Would highly recommend.

We can't say enough good things about Gili Air Bungalows! Herman made sure our stay was amazing and memorable! We were an extended family of 6 and had two bungalows for 3 nights. The bungalows were clean, comfortable and beautiful! The pool was surrounded by incredible gardens and was so lovely and refreshing! We used their laundry service and were very happy with it. We also used their recommended captain for a snorkelling trip and he was the best! We ended up going on a sunset cruise with him the last night because him and his staff were so great. Ask Herman to set you up with him and you won't be disappointed! There are plenty of shops and restaurants in close walking distance and although the included breakfast is a ways down the road, it's well worth the walk! We enjoyed a delicious beachside breakfast each morning. Thank you to Gili Air Bungalows for a fantastic stay, we will return again one day for sure!

Beautiful gardens, very clean rooms, comfortable beds, stunning pool area. I felt relaxed with my 3 kids swimming and watching them from my little patio or banana lounge.Drinking water provided in a large safe water dispenser (both hot and cold). Staff were amazing, so so helpful and happy. We stayed in 5 different places in Bali/Lombok and this was my favourite accommodation. Hired bikes, rode all around the island. Snorkelled, ate beautiful food. The accomodation included free breakfast at chill out restaurant and it was really good. We even spent 2 evenings there where we enjoyed BBQ food. Laundry was offered onsite. Was a real treat for a family of 5 and I feel like the extra touches they put in, made our stay relaxing and perfect. Location wise: it is in a quiet dirt laneway, approx 100m from water. We snorkelled at the end of the lane way and saw heaps of pretty fish and a turtle. Mosque is close by so the early morning call to prayer is loud, but I guess it’s part of the experience with diversity on these small islands.

We had stayed at Chillout Bungalows before and absolutely loved the service - hats off to Herman the reservation manager 👏 There was nothing he wouldn't say no to. Every support we needed at any time, was attended to. This time we stayed at their other property Gili Air Bungalows as the price suited us better. I thought I was taking a gamble knowing how amazing service we had the last time. And...it still exceeded my expectations. I stayed in a lumbung style (smaller room) and my partner stayed in the bigger glass wall room with teak wood (smelled great in his room by the way!) Everything worked perfect. Wifi. Aircon. Fridge. Cutlery. Hot/Cold water dispenser. The stroll to Chillout for breakfast every morning was such a breeze and meditative. It felt really good to walk before and after breakfast. So while there's no room service for food, it didn't bother us at all. Plus, the breakfast was massive! I loved my Dragonfruit juice every morning + excellent long black coffee. I had a ton of fruits with yogurt. Occasionally porridge. And the poached egg is perfect. Added greens next to it at no extra charge. Pancakes are also included but that's when my partner can eat more than me! :) The swimming pool and greenery around it looked gorgeous! Couldn't resist not taking a photo one day when all I wanted to do was - nothing. It is a gem. I would suggest packing earplugs as you can hear the mosque - and 32 decibels for foam ear plugs worked magically. And yes, there IS hot water in the shower (as I was reading previous posts). 🙌 The beds were super comfy and I woke up earlier than ever feeling so refreshed. It felt like a retreat. Truly. And again, BIG thanks to Herman who is on the ball with anything and everything. All the staff are glowing with smiles and ready to help. There was always staff on duty and bicycles to rent on arrival. Wish I took more photos to share... I cannot recommend this place highly enough. 5 stars 🌟

The place and staff is nice, but full of bed bugs. The hotel manager kept on saying it was stingers, but small bites of 3 all over my body and signs of bed bugs in the linen, made us leave early. There was no problem with leaving early and we only paid for the nights we slept there.
