Grand Hotel Bellevue London

Very close to Paddington station. Lots of restaurant around. Convenient to go to the airport

Short stay and sad to leave ! sad to leave but now I have my home in London, beautiful discovery, charming hotel decorated with great delicacy. I really like the lobby, the bar, the breakfast room and especially the fitness room. Thank you very much to Ombre for your radiant smile, Arthur. Thank's to Matteo I had great cocktail at the bar, Thank you Yanis "GM" for sending us our lugage to the train station. You made our stay memorable! I'll see you very soon. H.B.

Lots of positives - location, fabulous staff, high quality interior, focus on safety and access. New, only opening in April, and I had read about it in a review. But I just can’t get over the tiny, tiny rooms. Apart from space on one side of the very comfortable large bed, there was no closet, no drawer space (there was a cabinet, but mostly filled with minibar fridge, coffee maker, safe, and 2 shelves), nowhere to hang clothes, no desk, nowhere to put a computer, no chair to sit, the only flat surface being a tiny bedside table - you get the message. I have stayed in similar tiny hotel rooms in London and other European and Asian cities before but generally not those which aim to cater to individuals who want a higher quality experience. I even stayed recently in one a similar room in LA, but even there the wall hangers, small desk, and a chair were provided and you could easily walk around both sides of the bed. Obviously a conscious choice by the owners during development. Perhaps the room size is no surprise, since as noted in a recent Daily Telegraph review (31st May 2024) “A surprising 60 bedrooms have been packed into the two elegant, adjoining townhouses”. So, my take is that unless you only plan to stay a single night and additionally don’t want to unpack, hang up any clothes, look at a laptop or iPad, spend any time at all in the room, or do any work, I cannot recommend it. They hint at this by calling their rooms ‘Cabins’ I realized afterwards. A real shame for me, however, as I thought it could become my go-to hotel in London. But I am unlikely to return despite the charms.
