The Colonnade Hotel recensioner

Nice quiet location very close to tube station and walking distance to Little Venice and the canals. The lobby and reception areas of the hotel are beautifully decorated as per the photos posted on line. Reception staff are friendly and welcoming. The rooms are where it all falls apart. Literally. Carpets on stairs dirty. Bedrooms in very poor state of repair with old chipped and stained furniture. Bathroom appalling with broken tiles, dirty stained shower fittings, poorly applied and dirty grouting/sealant inside the shower. Guests on the upper floors were heard to be complaining of little or no water pressure. Mattress badly stained with no protector. Pillows in the same state. Disgusting and frankly hazardous to health. View from room window was of piles of old broken furniture and mattresses, and numerous bags of rubbish. There was a skeleton of a pigeon right outside my window., that had obviously been caught in the preventative netting some time ago. No drinking water provided (I was offered a bottle for £7!!!). No turn down service. No shoe shine service. All these services are marketed on the hotel website. The bar was closed (for refurbishment apparently) and no drinks available to order. Whoever owns this establishment should be ashamed, as the lack of upkeep and general cleanliness is astounding, and also considering the historic nature of the building.
