I will start this by saying we have stayed at lots of Premier Inns and went in with reasonable expectations. No one books Premier Inn for a luxury experience, all we wanted was a decent clean room, somewhere to grab a bite to eat/quick drink and a good breakfast. The main thing to know about this hotel is the on-site restaurant at this location is not owned by Premier Inn and has been for sale for over a year. We had pre-booked evening meals and none could be provided (despite their website still taking bookings today). It seems like they have serious staffing issues. The bar was never open so you couldn’t get a drink in the evening and to top it all off despite having booked the cooked breakfast option, at times they couldn’t provide it (I'm guessing this was due to more staffing issues). Instead they provided cereal, toast and croissants and gave guests a £2 refund which really isn’t sufficient given how poor the breakfast was. It wasn’t even continental, no hams, cheeses, fruit etc. The staff were nice, the room typical Premier Inn standard but there is no way we would have booked this if we knew about the bar, breakfast and restaurant issues which as I’ve said are not new issues, they have been ongoing for months. It’s disappointing Premier Inn continues to advertise services they can’t provide at this location. I’d say this hotel is only suitable if you are planning a ‘room only’ stay with no breakfast etc.
