Palmer's Ale House

Nice atmosphere,friendly staff. Good selection of ales and food very good quality. Only criticism was that our table was more in the drinking area than the restaurant so had noisy drinkers around us and my friends steak was rather tough but the waitress reduced price by £15 which was ok. Would go back.

I recently stayed at the Palmers hotel - lovely room with a great shower We stayed there as we had a small gathering for a birthday meal The burger was very nice - the fish had so many bones and a very thick batter - the halloumi had so much salad and enough to feed four people but not much halloumi. Although all the meals were very generous. My big disappointment was staff - there is a lovely girl who works there very smiley and accommodating but the management (I believe - 1 woman in particular) who seemed to be irritated by customers. She sat in the restaurant/bar with paperwork on the table and was not helpful at all just looked at you as if you should not of been there. I really think this is the reason the place is empty even at 10pm. There is not too much choice in Long Sutton and this place could be lovely with a bit of imagination and a better attitude it could be a little goldmine. Also please do not get excited by the breakfast If you stay in the rooms - most of it is inedible. Even the breakfast cereals are put in bowls with milk and then delivered to your table. Come on Palmers you could do so much better
