Anglers Arms

Booked for Sunday lunch 8/sept/2024 got there a little early they sat us down we then decided to get a Sunday lunch share platter 42£ as you got a little extra upon arrival it wasn’t hot it was slightly warm the Yorkshire puddings hard and cold it was bland no taste it felt like it was cooked the day before. We ordered plain pasta for our 6yr old got charged 12£ just for that, we looked at the pudding although a little pricey 8£ each, most of the puddings had berries on so we asked if could be removed as allergic so got a resounding NO. Never mind we then decided to pay and leave but the lady in charge was pushy and tried her best to get us to have puddings we kept saying no but wouldn’t listen so we payed the bill dinner + drinks (pop no alcohol) 67£ on the way out the lady stated see you next time my response No you won’t. 67£ for cold food and pushy staff I should point out that other customers had hot food you could see the steam. 21£ each for dinner should of at least been hot.?. Been coming here for years BUT … Why on earth did the new owner change the decor and remove most of the nik naks. This is what gave the Anglers Arms its distinctive cosy atmosphere. The new green paint scheme is typical of any other mediocre pub that we see now. Pubs need character, please

A lovely place to chill out, friendly staff, excellent food and extremely clean and comfortable. We stayed in Room 8 very spacious and quiet, everything about our stay was just right, we will return Photo's added were as we were leaving we just pulled the duvet over :)

Stayed one night as part of weeks tour of North East, venue met expectations, staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Nice location just over Bridge, see photos of river. Dinner and breakfast was more than adequate, freshly cooked.

We went for Sunday lunch excellent big portions staff were lovely I would like to thank them all could nt do enough for us desserts we're good all the staff we're young but very polite and friendly we throughly enjoyed our selvedge weren't pushed out didn't feel pressured to eat and out

Just left the anglers arms this morning, lovely overnight stay, extremely comfortable bed, towels, good shower. Breakfast delicious. Dinner last night was excellent, have to give a huge mention to Finn, who has just started, what a joy, great social skills, an asset. Harry also and lady in the bar. Lady serving breakfast just lovely. Well worth going to.

Travelled on business to Scotland and stopped off at the anglers for lunch, great meal as usual, Tracey was an excellent host once again, and one of the reasons I return to this excusit pub, I will always recommend a great pub and have never had a bad meal here... Perfect

Quiet location, room was clean, spacious and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff were very pleasant, Hannah in particular was very helpful. We stayed for one night prior to visiting Warkworth Castle and Amble. Would stay again....👍🏻

Quaint little Inn, we were checked in by Kelly and she was exceptional at all that she does. She is obviously a huge asset to Anglers Arms Inn. Her service all around was incredible. Our room was clean and well appointed, the bed could be dated, not supportive at all. Great Country side inn. Our dinner first night was excellent and second not as much. Breakfast was excellent as well. They had some new staff training and Kelley was s good with them. The young man was doing very well and has a natural Way with People. There was another woman helping out and she was excellent as well. She was a retired banker and know the chef, cant recall her name.
