Great place to base and stay on Lord Howe island with delightful nooks and beaches and all amenities needed. The units are well equipped; BBQs facilities; couple of minutes stroll to the nearest beach; airport pickup; too much to list (including a stocked freezer to get your BBQ meat and fish).

The accommodation was first class as was the warm reception we received for our entire stay. Many thanks to Andrea for her assistance, nothing was too much bother. I guess being a quiet period we were able to remain in the unit right up until we left for the airport. Our unit was very roomy with a separate bedroom and all utilities were provided. We would certainly stay here again if visiting LHI.

Hospitality of Owners was fantastic. Location of Villa’s is great as it is right on a gorgeous beach with accessible coral within easy reach. Villa’s are within easy bike ride of dive, snorkelling, and water sports facilities. Also close to shops and restaurants. You are much better on the western of the island as it is flatter, rather than the eastern side which has difficult hills to negotiate.

Stayed in a one bedroom apartment with toilet/shower and separate kitchen/living room . Had a balcony . Stayed for 6 nights . Very clean and comfortable the rooms were cleaned but you had to arrange this with the staff in the morning .On arrival the fridge had some eggs ,bacon ,milk and sachets of coffee and teabags ,but for the first day only . There was 2 washing machines which were for guest use . Very near Old Settlement beach ,the jetty and not too far from the main hub ,a short walk away or an even shorter bike ride . Free transport provided by the villas to restaurants in the evening if required . The restaurants would take you back after dining Staff were polite and friendly , they would visit in the morning to each villa to see if anything was required . All in all a very enjoyable stay at the Milky Way !

Milky Way apartments offer such great value for money. Clean, well appointed with thoughtful inclusions that have you feeling welcomed and valued. Cissy and the team are amazing, and do all they can to ensure your stay is fabulous. Located at the end of the road, and adjacent to the beach, we believe Milky Way offers the best value on the Island. The beach is where turtles can be found at high tide. A short bike ride in to town, Milky Way enables those on a later flight to be active about the Island, offering shower facilities and flexible pick up locations to get to the airport. We chose the Anchorage corner, which meant we could go paddling, swimming, shower, drop the bikes off and then lunch. There's a great vibe to LHI, and no need to bother with others removing your items from the room or ***** spaces. It's expected that honesty is the 'default setting' when it comes to personal items. LHI is the place of Happiness.

We just spent 10 nights staying at Milky Way after having first visited the island about 2 years ago for 4 nights (staying elsewhere on the island). We were absolutely thrilled to bits with our stay at Milky Way. The first 7 nights were spent in the Belmoreana, then due to limited availability we switched to the Mooreii for the last 3 nights. Having visited the island before (and stayed at the top of a big hill), we had a bit of an idea on the accommodation location, and in our opinion Old Settlement Beach is perfect! It’s a short 10 minute walk to the main street (even quicker on a bike) and only a couple of very slight hills. Being out of the main street also means it’s incredibly peaceful and secluded. Having Old Settlement Beach so close is wonderful. It’s a lovely calm area to swim and snorkel, with fabulous bbq facilities right by the beach. The accommodation itself did not disappoint! The Belmoreana was even better than we expected. It was extremely spacious, clean, private, and had an absolutely beautiful outlook. The bbq facilities were well-maintained and the free laundry much appreciated (even laundry detergent is provided!) Andrea and all the staff are friendly and helpful. The Mooreii room was smaller but still comfortable and clean. We can’t wait to return to Lord Howe and Milky Way villas again!

Thank you again Andrea, Cissy and Team Milky Way. Fabulous from start to finish, even if my rain dances failed to attract the much needed downpour! As always the staff were endlessly helpful in every respect. We have officially lost count of the number of visits to stay and we will be back again - no doubts and we will head straight to Settlement for a wonderful swim and snorkel out to Sylphs to see if we can spot a Turtle or three.. Stay well.

Totally loved this place. Accommodation everything we hoped for and more. Wish we had of known about the free washing machines before hand as we'd have packed less. We took some food over and it was nice to have cooking facilities. Hosts and staff wonderful. Located at the northern end of the island,we loved being at the end of the road. Definitely get a bike to travel from one end to the other but could easily walk if needed. Settlement beach right at your doorstep and had fun swimming with the turtles, biggest ones I've been near. Definitely would stay here again.

So I am taking the easy option and saying that we agree with previous reviewer ‘Awesome1965’. Lovely location. There are some hills to get to it, but much easier ones than some other accomodations. Had a wonderful time relaxing amongst nature.
