While staying at the Villa Del Palmar resort on Danzante Bay, there was a horrible bus accident which closed off the highway and blocked our return from our time exploring the town of Loreto. We were brought to the Villa Group sister hotel, Hotel Santa Fe, and after some back and forth with shuttle and highway patrol communication, we were given a reduced room rate for the night as we would not be able to get back to our resort. The main lobby was clean, organized and inviting and was attached to their restaurant, Casa Mia, and a small convenience store. Once you go through the doors into the back side of the hotel, you are greeted by an open ceiling atrium with pool, gorgeous Spanish-style winding stairs, lounge chairs, and the beautiful sky and stars. We were on the 4th floor and did require assistance getting into the room door as it was a sliding glass door with a funky lock, but otherwise the door functioned and had a curtain to provide privacy. The room was small, twp twin beds, small kitchenette with supplies, small bathroom with toiletries and towels, and AC/ceiling fan. The decor is dated and the room is not comparable to the VDP resort, but the linens were clean, bed comfortable, and the respite from the chaos of the night much needed. Staff were helpful and gracious in keeping us updated on how things were progressing between highway patrol and our shuttle guide Wild Loreto (thank you Jared!). While I would not choose to stay at the hotel for my vacation, for an overnight stay or day trip, this would be perfect. Located on one of the main town streets and easily walkable to eateries, shops and activities.
