Spring Arona Gran Hotel - Adults Only

After reading many excellent reviews about the Arona Gran Hotel, we decided to choose it for our annual September get-away, and the place to celebrate our second year wedding anniversary. We were not disappointed. On arrival we were in awe of the beautiful reception area which has lots of natural light and is filled with exotic plants. We were offered a comfortable seat and a welcome drink for check-in. As we upgraded to a room with a better sea view, we had to wait about 30 mins before we could access our room, but this was still earlier than the stated 15:00 check-in time. We still had access to toilet facilities to freshen up and change into cooler clothes-l, since we flew from the UK so weren’t dressed for 27 degree weather initially. We were also given a place to store our cases so we could go have lunch and explore whilst we waited for our room. We were given a bottle of fizz and a congratulations card for our room to celebrate our anniversary, which was a lovely touch. Our room was clean and well presented. We didn’t upgrade to the UP! package, so still had the basic tea/coffee making facilities and a mini fridge (which was actually very good). The bathroom was stocked with hand soap, shower gel, and shampoo, although I take my own, so can’t comment on what they were like. Each room has a safe, but you have to pay €3 a day to use it. You’re asked if you would like this at check-in and this is added to your bill at this point. We chose to use it because it helped us keep our passports and valuable items safe during the day and we didn’t need to take everything with us every time we left the room. Although it would have been nice to have the use of the safe included with the price of the room, which is very typical of most places I’ve stayed. Daily housekeeping service kept our room fresh and clean everyday and replenished used towels and condiments. There are several water dispensers on each floor, so you can refill your bottles with clean drinking water as often as you like. There is a gym, two pools, and a jacuzzi in the resort which are all clean and enjoyable. There is a pool table, ping pong, and a separate quiet room with board games and books. There aren’t many daily activities/classes unfortunately unlike other hotels that may provide workshops, here there is only aqua aerobics once a day at midday. But we did this several days and enjoyed it. The evening entertainment was okay. Like anywhere, some singers were good, and some, not so good. But we were able to watch either from the tables downstairs or from our balcony where there is room to dance and sing along. This hotel has lots of room, you will never be stuck for a place to sit and relax. Plenty of sun-beds, but there isn’t a reservation scheme, and if you’re not on your bed by 9am, the lifeguard will remove your towels. This was our second visit, that’s how good this hotel is from the minute you walk into the hotel you are greeted by the friendly receptionist. The staff are so friendly and welcoming , must of them remember you and greet you by your name. Our room with a sea view was amazing . Breathtaking views at night and bring a pair of binoculars to view the stars and constellation at night. The dining room from breakfast to dinner has amazing food , will suit everyone’s palette. The location of the hotel is why we choose it , adult only hotel , quiet hotel , walking distance to beaches , shops and bars. The bonus is that the hotel it self has shops inside, so if you need left anything g at home do t worry the shop gas everything , also gives you a very good money exchange rate. Don’t forget the Market on Sunday and Tuesday.

We went for A Few Nights for My Birthday 11th -14th August 2024 The Hotel Was Very Clean .. Food Was Amazing Especially Wednesday Evening With Wonderful Seafood & Great Selection of Food & Presented Lovely Fish & Caviar..& Amazing Selection of Everything to Suit Any Pallete Breakfast & Evening Dinner Was Superb Lovely Starched White Table Cloths & Lovely To Be Able To Have Breakfast Sitting Outside Overlooing The Sea.. Dinner Was Very Enjoyable in the Spacious Restaurant & Service Was Very Good.. Had A Nice Room Overlooking The Pool & Stage (Rm 235) & A Very Welcoming Bottle of Bubbly Sent to our Room For My Birthday.. Queen Tribute Was Excellent & Supporting Acts & on the Whole Entertainment was Excellent The Pools were Lovely as whilst We were there it Reached 30 + deg plus But We Managed to Find A Bed Near The Sea Soo the View was Lovely & Handy for the Pools.. Aerobics on A Morning For An Hour But Lovely & Quiet After That to Read Relax & Swim.. Reception were Very Helpful. The Gentleman that Checked us in was very Helpful & Marion that Checked us out was very helpful.. The Only Gripe we had was The Towel Boy Could Not Speak Any English & Was Just Not Helpful.. We put our Towels Down & As I Was Feeling A Bit Sickly & My Husband took me to The Toilet & When We Came Back to Our Sunbed The Towels & All our Belongings had been removed from our Beds. If it had not been for the Couple Laid on the Next Bed telling us The Pool / Lifeguard Boy had Stripped all the Beds A Few Minutes before we came back.. My Husband Went over to The Pool Boy who was Sat with his Earphones in Listening to his Music & Just Pointed to The Six Bags that were thrown in the Corner My Husband had to open 3 Bags Before he Finally Found our Belongings ..Rooting through Oher People's Belongings is not Very Nice..While he Just Sat There Taking No Notice Whatsoever.. We Also Brought About 10 Hard Back Autobiograpghy Books Really Good Books for Other Guests to Read Whilst on Holiday That he Just Slung in A Cupboard with No Care or Interest... Such A Shame as this put A Damperner on our Few Days Away.. We are Residents & Live here in La Caleta & have A Lot of 3/4 Day Breaks in Different Hotels & have Never Experienced Such Rude & Unwelcoming Service Around The Pool.. I Would Suggest This Situation Should Be Reviewed & Look at A Booking System for The Sunbeds On The App That Guests Can Reserve for The Following Day Like they Do at The Princess Hotels & Believe me it Works... Then I Could Rate Your Hotel 100% We have Booked For New Year for 3 Nights 30th Dec 2024- 2nd January 2025 & Hopefully This Pool Situation Will be Rectified with The Sun Beds Then..

Amazing adults only hotel, which will take your breathe away when you enter and look up at the crystal chandelier. Food is fantastic I've never had so much choice. Gala evening is once a week when the ladies get given a rose and a glass of wine on entry to the restaurant in the evening. They also have a chocolate fountain going on this night for dessert. Very clean and lovely swimming pools and a lovely warm spa pool with bubble jets and sunloungers in the water. Activities around the pool if you wish e.g bingo, darts, aqua aerobics and waterpolo. There is also a supermarket just across the road from the hotel so you can get your drinks to enjoy as you sit back and watch the sunset every night, from the comfort of your balcony. Top tip pay the extra and get a Seaview room you won't be disappointed as the hotel is on the seafront! Witness the amazing sunsets all from the comfort of your own balcony and have a few drinks under the stars. Visit this hotel year after year and can't wait to go back.

My 2 friends and I stayed in this beautiful hotel for 5 nights in May 2024 and we had such a lovely time! We had a couple of issues with the room but these were promptly sorted the next morning. The breakfast was lovely each morning and had something for everyone. We never had any issues getting sun loungers and we noted how clean the pool areas were and how thoroughly they were cleaned each evening. While this hotel does cater for a lot of older clientele, as 3 girls in our 20s, we really enjoyed the tranquility and the relaxation that the hotel offered. We got an Uber into Las Americas when we wanted a bit more activity. We also utilised the spa facilities and couldn’t recommend it enough!! There is a supermarket just across the road from the hotel which is very convenient for water snacks etc and is so well priced! One thing that did put us off was the pool bar- we were unable to purchase drinks, Ice-cream etc there and then and were told we had to charge them to our room. This didn’t suit us as a group of three and did discourage us from purchasing anything from the pool bar. All in all I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, young or old, in need of a bit of relaxation.

We have just returned from this fabulous hotel. The building itself is beautiful. The restaurant is outstanding, so much choice, even for the fussiest of pallets! All of the staff we came across were both friendly and professional. The rooms were spacious and spotless, if not a little aged in places. We did encounter a few cockroaches in the bedrooms on occasion, but this was not a major problem to us. The pool area was clean and spacious, yes, there were times when sun beds were saved for hours on end with towels, which was a little annoying at times. But you get this in hotels all around the world! We were upgraded to a sea view room on arrival, due to the hotel being fully booked, which was very much appreciated. The entertainment was hit and miss, but we didn't go there to spend all of our evenings in the hotel. Top tip, use the gate at the bottom.of the stairs near the pool to gain access to the prom. Saves talking up and down the hill at the side of the hotel.

Visited the Arona Gran from 8-18 July 224 and I can safely say it’s probably the best hotel I’ve stayed in. Adults only, although older teens accepted (visited with my 17 year old twins). The hotel is spotlessly clean and we noticed that they clearly take maintenance very seriously. Not so much as a cracked tile around the pool. Very disability friendly. Ramps allowed access to the whole pool area. We stayed half board and the breakfast was incredible. There is nothing more you could wish for. We only stayed in for evening meals a few times (as we like to eat out). However evening meals were also excellent, plenty of choice, with hot and tasty meals. We ate at the poolside snack bar one lunch time and the food again was exceptional, tasty burgers, chicken wraps, pasta and soup. Rooms generous and well equipped with excellent A/C and a good hair dryer. Tea and coffee with kettle provided. The staff were also faultless. Nothing was too much trouble. Service to your sun bed. I happened to witness two guests having medical episodes and the response from the staff was exemplary. Special mention took to Cecilia who dealt a gentleman that had a fit. She reacted swiftly and professionally to treat the gentleman. This was our first half board experience and this may be common place but we did find charging to the room a little daunting. We were concerned we’d loose track of spend. But this is our only negative! We will definitely return!

First time in Tenerife and I’m so glad that we selected this hotel. We were given a warm welcome and drink (cava or orange juice) on arrival. Our room was immaculate and had everything we needed. It was a lovely touch that small bottles of water were left for each guest every morning. The small fridge in the room was big enough to store one of the 5 litre bottles of water. There is a HiperDino right across the road from the hotel reception so it’s very handy for water. It’s cheaper than the Overseas supermarket which is out of the reception area and down the road to the right. The food in the hotel was excellent. There was a large variety and it was all high quality. The seafood that was on during the Gala Night was very impressive. Breakfasts were equally as good. The highlights being the freshly squeezed orange juice and fresh honeycomb. Upon arrival you are given a key for the room but also a card for towels. You hand this card over to the lifeguard each day in exchange for a pool towel. The sunbeds had thick padding on top and were very comfortable. The pool area was kept very clean and the two large pools ensured there was enough space for everyone. The jacuzzi area was amazing, but be warned, if you select a bed on the front row behind the jets you risk getting sprayed. Most people didn’t mind, but we noticed a few unhappy guests who didn’t enjoy the spray. We never had any issues getting sunbeds, nor did we ever notice the lifeguards removing any towels. In fact we never noticed the lifeguards doing very much. They hardly lifted their heads when giving out towels and as many guests commented, they never smiled. It’s such a shame given how friendly and hardworking all the other staff are. The lifeguards really don’t fit in with the ethos of this hotel. Talking of staff, a special mention must go to Valentin and Rocío. They were very attentive and friendly and looked after us very well in the restaurant every day. The other waiting staff could not be faulted. They worked tirelessly and should be commended. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the restaurant manager, Arsenio. I’ve never met a more arrogant man. He paraded around the restaurant barking orders at staff. We witnessed one of the juice containers spill one morning and one member of staff was over to it immediately clearing up the spillage in a discrete and professional manner. That was until Arsenio appeared and made such a drama. The way he spoke to his staff was appalling. Overall, I would definitely return to this hotel. We had a very enjoyable holiday.

This is a gem of a hotel . I recetly stayed here with my wife and the whole experience was superb . From the room to the food and the staff were excellent . Even the sun loungers were checked regularly to make sure they werent lesft with towels so toy prevent them being left unoccopied
