Golf View Hotel

Went for evening meal. Pity it was dark, as the views from the restaurant looked amazing. Good view of the lit lighthouse but the staff were saying great views over Moray Firth, Parking is on the street and can be a bit busy Food was excellent and home cooked.

The first red flag came after seeing angry group of Syrians leaving never to return! It’s the sort of place one would expect to find a turd in the kettle! I had the misfortune of being housed in the box room (already ordered for me by my work). It was tiny and more of an alcove off the rickety corridor. It was filthy dirty. It looked like a storage closet and not near large enough to be hired out to weary travellers! The bathroom was horrendous, black mould on the ceiling, two nearly finished toilet rolls greeted me and they were kind enough to pre-open the bottle of water left in the fridge. The bed situated next to a single glazed window was freezing cold and the duvet was thin and probably well used . The cushion provided had never been washed and I dare say could tell a few stories. Apparently it is a family run hotel, I expect that family were Fred and Rose West and even they should be ashamed!! I am writing this from the car which is way more comfortable than that travesty of a room! This hotel should be ashamed to even open their doors and need to be checked out by an E.H.O as they are in breach of the Geneva Convention. Do not stay here, do not even walk past it, it is a crime against humanity. There was nobody on reception when I left to air my distress so pay attention to this.

Amazing hotel clean safe and real welcoming. Staff are amazing, food exceptional would like some of the recipes Big thanks to rhona and her colleague for sorting me out in the carpark got stuck. Look forward to next visit stayed a few times and nothing seems to much for them. Roll on next stay. Exceptional views

Lovely restaurant very friendly staff. Busy didn't have to wait for anything at all. I had nachos which wasn't to my taste smothered in sauce jalapenos far too many and salsa very hot!! Main course chips tasted like they were cooked in old oil.

We booked for dinner and on arrival were told table11 had been reserved for us. When the lady in charge came to show us to our table she then said she had given our table away. She then turned to another member of staff and said “ it’s ok I’ll just put them through here”. Her attitude to us was appalling. She showed us to an area where most people were drinking. When I said I was unhappy with the table she said there was nothing she could - the restaurant was fully booked - despite us having booked. We walked out and will never go back. It’s sad when one person not doing their job can destroy a restaurant’s reputation.

We had a table if 13 of us and were accommodated very well with views overlooking the golf course and beach. The food choice was really good, with a mix of fish, chicken, meat, vegetarian dishes to suit all tastes. Our American friends really enjoyed the food they tried which ranged from salmon, burgers, chicken strips, fresh haddock, which were all very good and freshly cooked. Recommend to go here. The prices are also very good too.
