Garbis Villas & Apartments

What an amazing place this is! Wasn't sure what to expect but it surpassed all our expectations. The location is perfect, central for either Argostoli or Scala, and the views are out of this world. Irene was the perfect hostess, always smiling and giving us the odd little treat now and then in the form of biscuits and ice cream. We cannot recommend this place enough and are already looking at dates for next year.

Stunning views, pool area gorgeous and everything spotless, there is no bar/food but that wasn’t a problem as supermarket/bars close by. The area is very hilly with a very steep hill to the beach but there is a bus for 2 euro well worth it. Highly recommended and cannot wait to return. Fabulous place to stay

We have just returned from a lovely holiday in Kefalonia where we stayed at Garbis. The villa was exceptional. Stunning views and spotlessly clean. Coming home to a beautiful pool was such a treat, especially in the heat. You are only 15/20 mins walk from one of the best beaches I’ve ever been to. In a car you are only 5 mins from Lourdas beach and all its restaurants too. Each room has a lovely little terrace so you have your own space even if you are with a big party. All the staff were amazing and so hospitable. It made for a really special trip. Can’t wait to visit again soon!!! Thank you!!!

Our stay here was magical. The rooms were incredibly clean and the yard/pool area were spotless. The host Eirini is a wonderful lady who shows what Greek hospitality is all about. Eleni the cleaner is a brilliant character. We stayed as a family of 10 in different apartments. Managed to cook in the kitchen with the two hobs and used the tables outside to eat. Make sure you visit Kanali beach when you’re there which is a 20/30 minute walk. A car is a must especially in the heat of summer. We will be back. Excellent, warm, genuine and memorable. We will never forget our stay and it will have a special place in our hearts.

We highly recommend a stay here! We arrived 2 hours late due to flight delay, at midnight and even so, was greeted by Irene, who gave us some bottled water and biscuits! The one bed apartment was absolutely spotless, cleaned by the hard working and lovely Helen and it was also well equipped. The view from our apartment were stunning, the swimming pool was amazing too, busy at times but had it to ourselves a lot during our stay. If you want to see Kefalonia car hire is necessary, but this was a complete chill holiday for us and we like to walk, which we could do very easily as the supermarket and restaurants are only a 5-10 minute walk away. The walk to Lourdes beach is downhill and takes about 25 mins, so it is all uphill back, which in the heat is tough, so we got a taxi, which was ordered by the highly recommend to eat, Seven Cafe Bar! Irene was absolutely amazing, always, stopping for a chat and giving us Greek coffee and cakes, which we have never experienced such lovely hospitality in self catering apartments before, we will definitely be making a return trip with our family.

We had an excellent experience at Garbis Villas in 2014 and 2021. We were really in love with the place, its history and with Irene, the owner. Still, in 2023 our experience left place for improvement. We booked an apartment 7 months in advance and explicitely asked to be in the first villa. We were told first villa is already booked and we will be offered an apartment in the second villa, which was still fine. When we arrrived, we were given an apartment in the fourth villa. This villa is not refurbished and it does not have good view, just a view to the opposite construction and to the fence. When we addressed the issue to Angela (the daughter of the owner), we received no clear explaination nor appologies or compensation. Also some refurbishments should be considered: sewage work to eliminate the bad smell plus moskito nets. We think that Angela should involve more in the family business and make sure that customers (moreover returning ones) are satisfied.
