Hotel Bastide & Spa - Villa de Lourmarin

My wife and I booked Hotel Bastide for 4 nights for a wedding weekend. Our experience was terrible. Room cleanliness: -10/10 Customer respect: 0/10 Reasons from most significant to least: 1. There were a few oblong flies in the room. Not a big deal, I killed them. Then I noticed a few more in the bathroom. Then I complained. The front desk said “the cleaning team leaves the door open and they fly in, after you kill them you should be fine”. I then saw a baby fly on the bed, and found another on the curtains, and I went searching for more in the room. There was an infestation on the outside of the room, and they were freely crawling under the closed sliding glass door (see photo) 2. The safe was literally broken. The door was hanging off the hinges. Before discovering the infestation, I went to the front desk to complain about this, and he said “we have lots of problems with safes here”. OK… (see attached photo) 3. The bathroom sink is “in” the shower, so you need to walk on the shower floor to get there. It was still wet when we walked in the room, and had a scent of mildew. (See attached photo) 4. There was dust all inside the closet and the closet doors which grosses out my wife more than me, but is an indication of their attention to detail in cleaning the room (see attached photo and #3 above) After the source of the bugs was identified (and unsolvable) we asked to move rooms. They were fully booked. At that point, we had no choice but to make a reservation with a different hotel. After the front desk team member saw the source of the bugs, he assured us that he thought the owner would be reasonable and accept our request for a refund. We booked with Chase and until now (~3 weeks later) the owner has not be responsive to their queries. Obviously, I don’t recommend.

We stayed one night on our way to Avignon. We arrived early and were given access to our room, a nice touch. The room was comfortable and they have an outside area near the swimming pool where you can relax. As we had to leave early, we were not able to experience breakfast. It’s located quite close to the old town, a plus.

Kevin went out his way to help us with transportation to and from the wedding venues over our 4 day stay . The hotel is opposite the entrance to the quaint village , where you will find a great choice of restaurants. The rooms are spotless clean . Bathroom small but modern . If I have to pick holes I would suggest they offer feather pillows as I found theirs too hard . But that’s me .

Nice hotel in Lourmarin. Easy walking distance to the center of the village. The room was not very large, but everything was in good working order. The AC in the room worked well, which was essential as very hot when we were there. The hotel has a nice contemporary look and feel in the common areas inside. Nice pool and spa. Decent value given quality / price, when compared to other places around which were more expensive. Service was friendly and attentive. Breakfast in the morning was of a good quality with decent range of choice.

L’hôtel est bien situé, à seulement 5 minutes à pied du centre du village, ce qui est très pratique notamment les jours de marché. L’accueil est chaleureux et le personnel agréable. Cependant, l’établissement mériterait un rafraîchissement. La décoration des parties communes comme des chambres est datée, et l’ensemble manque un peu de modernité pour un hôtel de ce standing. Grosse déception concernant le petit déjeuner : à 22 €, on s’attend à une offre plus qualitative et variée. Le déjeuner au restaurant ne nous a pas convaincus non plus. Le cadre extérieur avec la piscine est agréable, mais il faut noter que le restaurant est ouvert au public extérieur le midi. Cela peut gêner si l’on souhaite se détendre en maillot de bain, car les clients extérieurs déjeunent en face. En résumé, un emplacement pratique et un bel extérieur, mais des prestations globalement en décalage avec les tarifs pratiqués. The hotel is well located, just a 5-minute walk from the village center, which is very convenient, especially on market days. The staff is welcoming and friendly. However, the hotel could really use some updating. The decor in both the common areas and the rooms feels dated and lacks the modern touch you would expect from a hotel in this category. We were quite disappointed with the breakfast: at €22, the quality and variety were not up to expectations. Lunch at the restaurant was also underwhelming. The outdoor area with the pool is pleasant, but note that the restaurant is open to external guests at lunchtime. This can be uncomfortable if you want to relax in a swimsuit, as people are dining just in front of you. In summary, a convenient location and nice outdoor setting, but the overall experience does not match the high prices charged.

Nous voici de retour pour la troisième fois à la bastide de lourmarin très bel endroit très bon accueil chambre confortable petit déjeuner copieux. Mais je déplore toujours le manque d’entretien du jardin manque de fleurs de couleurs les massifs mal taillés et arbres aussi. Les bordures négligées etcccc l’endroit pour le petit déjeuner extérieur toujours idem pas de nettoyage dommage un très bel endroit très bien placé Pourtant la dernière fois un effort devait être fourni alors manque de personnel dommage dommage cela ne m empêchera pas de revenir mais ???
