Stayed in this beautiful hotel on the Mekong River in this fabulous little backwater. Breakfast is magical as was the service and location. Book a river view room and you are as close to paradise as it is possible to get. Sunset river cruise is a must as is the best temple just fifty yards away Wat Xieng Thong. Would go back in a heartbeat.

I know that I'm in Laos, and things run differently here, but I feel ripped off. I have travelled using Agoda all over Indonesia, Cambodia and Thailand, but I have never been charged in USD before. As it was I thought this was a little over priced, but figured it was right on the banks of the Mekong river with aircon, wifi and a pool, but now that it's in US dollars not Aussie, it is WAY over priced. When I arrived there was nobody around, and eventually I found a young girl cleaning who gave me the key to my room. Rooms are nice enough, and the bum gun has great rinsing pressure! They ask you to leave your key with reception when you go out, but when you come back to get it, it's just sitting on the counter with nobody around watching out for it, so anybody could walk in off the street and help themselves to whatever is in your room. Did I mention there is no pool?

Brutal, made the reservation from the airport arrived a half hour later was told they were full and nothing they could do to help. Totally unacceptable. He tried to tell us they didn’t work with *******, we showed him the website!! He told us to deal with ******* for our refund. We’re left to wander down the riverfront in the dark at 9:30 on a Friday night during the end of the ***** near year. A very helpful hôtelier started to help us. By chance we wandered into a sister property of the “sold out” one. She realized who we were and that we were not happy, she found us a room elsewhere in town and refunded our rate in cash. We have used ******* extensively in South America and Asia never had this experience before. The customer service on-line was actually wonderful, helpful and very understanding. Be wary!
