B&B Relais Inn Lucca

Really poor experience. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room, dispenser for liquid soap like a public bathroom, no shampoo, a broken shower door, a slow draining shower that nearly flooded the bathroom, a stained, thin duvet with no cover on, and a reception that wasn't happy to see us leave at 7.45am to catch a flight because reception didn't open until 8.... (we didn't know this, nor did we need to have reception open as we'd already paid). It turned out they wanted the extra 5 euros for the tourist tax, so were prepared to open early to receive it..... basically avoid. Pay a little extra and stay somewhere else.

Clean, comfortable en-suite double room with air-conditioning. Basic furniture with a fridge with water supplied. Inside the city walls in a quiet location, our room was over next doors eatery but with doubled glazed windows noise was minimal. A continental breakfast served daily with plenty of choices, including yogurt, fruit, cereals and cake. The staff spoke good English and were very welcoming and attentive. I would definitely recommend this B&B and there is a lift which is a bonus as in Lucca many of the hotels don’t have them.

Returning to Lucca for the third time we decided to stay in a B&B, we found the Relais Inn & what a find … from the moment we booked (recommend book direct with the B&B) we knew we had picked the right accommodation for our 5 night stay in Lucca … on arrival we were met with such a lovely warm welcome, the room was fabulous, lovely decor, very clean, air conditioned, very comfortable bed, fridge & lots of storage! The breakfast was excellent, we enjoyed all that was on offer, especially the coffee. The location is great not far from the station, bars, restaurants & a stones throw from the walls. We would highly recommend anyone visiting Lucca to stay at the Relais , staying in this family ran B&B you are made welcome from the moment you arrive to the moment that you leave … you won’t be disappointed … we will definitely be back!

Great location being one row back from / within the wall and close to the train station. Reception staff were always friendly and helpful. We were on the top floor and used both lift and stairs and rooms were quiet. There is a restaurant next door and apparently there had been some noise issues previously but no issues during our stay. Double glazed windows and really good internal shutters to keep the bedroom dark. Quirky and creative styling in the rooms but in keeping with the old building style and really liked it. Breakfast was basic but good and really loved the fresh cakes. One minor and slightly annoying observation was that the hotel provide bathroom liquid soap in a bottle (smelt lovely). However as the week progressed it appeared to be getting watered down and at the end of the week it was really noticeable. We absolutely loved Lucca and if we ever returned would have no hesitation in returning to this Hotel again and recommend it.

Il B&B si trova in uno stabile abbastanza datato che i proprietari hanno cercato di rendere piu' gradevole utilizzando arredi non anonimi. E' dentro le mura cittadine quindi molto comodo per visitare Lucca. Non è facile parcheggiare ma c'è un parcheggio pubblico a pagamento in zona e il B&B dispone di un garage con due posti auto. Le stanze sono ampie e, nonostante affaccino sulla strada, silenziose. Una bottiglietta d'acqua in frigo però l'avremmo gradita. Il personale è molto gentile, disponibile e professionale. Buona e abbastanza ricca la colazione. Forse amplierei l'orario di accesso che ora è tra le 8 e le 10. Complessivamente siamo stati bene anche se una rinfrescata generale forse non guasterebbe. Sicuramente il Covid non ha aiutato negli ultimi due anni ma credo che la clientela non mancherà per poter fare qualche piccolo investimento in tal senso visto che ci sono tutti i presupposti per accogliere bene tanti ospiti.

Comoda la posizione vicino al centro e ad un parcheggio, la stanza era carina e pulita e anche la colazione buona. Purtroppo ci siamo accorti alle 21 che la tv non funzionava, abbiamo telefonato ai num presenti in camera senza avere risposta, il termosifone è’ stato acceso tutta la notte e non c’è stato modo di spengerlo tanto che abbiamo dormito a finestra spalancata. Queste sue cose purtroppo hanno peggiorato la qualità del nostro soggiorno
