Forenom Aparthotel Lund

We did not get an SMS or email with codes and instructions for check in. Room was clean, but broken light bulb, replaced fridge and it was not pretty with dirt and old plastic screws on the floor. Curtains missed a hook. Beds extremely uncomfortable. No garbage instructions. Sauna and shower had lots of broken pieces. It served its purpose but could do better if it was properly maintained.

False advertising at it’s finest. I searched for a place to stay in Lund before leaving London and found this place. after booking on AirB&B you get the supposed exact location. But this location was not in Lund, Eslov or Örtofta, it was a hostel in the middle of nowhere. Of course I found this out when i was already in the country. Isolated with no store around to get food or anything else you may need. I was on an express way near the Nordic Sugar Factory. The worst part was the spiders in the room and bathroom. There was spider and spider webs in my room when i came in. The company did not bother to check if the room was clean or not. We spent 30 minutes removing them and searching the room for more just incase. Tv was not working. The bathrooms were far away from the bedrooms, you have to walk through the hallway to go to toilet and bathroom. The hallway has no bright light. It looked cold, isolated and hunted to be honest. I had to check out the next day. I originally booked to stay for 4 nights but after the first night I couldn’t bare to spend the rest of my holiday in that place. Luckily for me I had people to stay with. Imagine if there was no one to take me in. I later found out that the company has another hostel in Lund, so when you book it comes up in the air b&b map as Lund, but you end up in the middle of nowhere outside Lund. I would not recommend this place to my enemy. This would have been a good ideal if the company was honest with exact location and letting people know they will be stuck in the middle of nowhere outside Lund. And cleaning the rooms, and making sure amenities are all working fine.

First, the location is excellent (apart from the noise), and I can see how it fills a need for a temporary long-term stay in Lund, which is a small town and likely to have limited options for people who need a temporary medium- to long-term stay option. Also, the location is really perfect. You can walk anywhere and the supermarket is a block away. Bizarrely, however, in such a quiet town with minimal car traffic, the street it’s on is incredibly noisy. There seemed to be trucks either idling outside or backing up (with the beep, beep, beep) all day. There were angrily beeping horns and children screaming, it was strange. That’s not in the control of the aparthotel, but other things are. There was no decor, nothing on the walls in either the apartment or the halls and the walls are painted an odd dark green color. It feels depressing. The motion sensor lights in the hallways often don’t activate, so you are often walking down a dark windowless hallway using your phone to see, even in the middle of the day. There was a permanent low key rotting garbage smell. There were silverfish in the bathroom. One washing machine out of two was broken, with no sign warning of that. It filled with water and filled and emptied over and over. That’s all it did. It had apparently been like that for a long time. And it was dirty. How is a washing machine dirty? And the garbage room, where you have to bring your garbage and sort your recycling, well, don’t go in there without closed shoes on. It’s disgusting, with many creepy crawlies. It’s the second worst one I have ever seen. There seems to be no effort to keep it clean or tidy. Things were also missing or broken in the apartment - parts of the refrigerator, a lamp cover. Oh, and the bathroom had a lot of black mildew on the grout. The few times I saw someone who worked there, they were very nice, but there are usually no staff on premises. In sum, the aparthotel is in a great location and provides a needed service, but they could do much, much better. I left early. There is an inexpensive hotel next door. It’s a lot nicer.

3000 SERVICE CHARGE! Booked Forenom in Lund to visit our daughter 1 night. Chose the hotel because it had pet friendly offer on Booking dot com. (More expensive choice then REAL HOTELS). NO confirmation or advice if the room we were offered was good for dogs or not. Our dog stayed at my daughters apartment, BUT we were charged 3000 for cleaning!!! Even though the dog didn’t stay overnight!! Or no notification was sent OR, there is no clarity to to which rooms are which. COMPLETE SCAM TO GET CUSTOMERS TO PAY MORE! I’m sure I will get a response on Trustpilot, because I sure as heck don’t get a good response from the hotel itself. BTW you need to even bring your own soap! Absolute JOKE and way to raise profit.

The dishwasher was broken. After calling customer service it appeared that this problem was already known. They asked me to send an e-mail about it to get a compensation so I did but to no avail. Apart from the dishwasher, the fan in the bathroom was also broken as well as the coffee machine in the lobby. It takes 15KR for a cappuccino without milk but a lot of lukewarm water instead. Very disaapointing altogether.

The Aparthotel is very well located in the city center with restaurants, transport, and shops very nearby. Tourist attractions are also well within walking distance so the location of this Aparthotel is excellent. The reception area is nice however not once during our stay did we see a member of staff there. Things are mostly done online - you have a pin to enter your room/hotel building which was given via email/text however it was odd not to see anyone at the reception at all. We did see cleaners around but no other staff. The rooms are modest and tidy, you have a kitchenette - useful if you plan to do cooking/food preparation yourself. The room also has a desk which is nice as well as a small table and chairs for eating. Furthermore, there is an armchair and lounge table, a TV and also since we stayed in a family room, a sofa bed. This makes the room capable to be a nice lounge area during the day. In the family room, you have the sofa bed and also a double bed which both are extremely comfortable. The bedding however on the sofa bed was not done pre-hand which they said should've been done and there was one cover less than we needed. We phoned the customer service and they were very helpful; the situation was dealt with very well. The member of staff on the phone guided us to a storage cupboard where we were able to get an extra cover ourselves since no staff were on site and they apologized about the sofa bed which they confirmed should have been prepared. Note: The only toiletries provided are soap and toilet paper (which if you run out of - don't hesitate to ask for more) There are also supermarkets nearby if you're missing anything such as shower gel. The bathroom was as you'd expect and was overall fine. One thing that was very confusing was the Breakfast. We did not see any signs of breakfast being served at all and are unsure whether we needed to book in advance or something so don't totally rely on the breakfast within the Aparthotel. Furthermore, there is a coffee machine which is accessible whenever you need it and is a nice addition to the Aparthotel. However, it does seem to malfunction. Twice we ordered Frothed Milk and instead it gave us Hot Water... Other options like Cappuccino worked fine but others did not?... Overall though the Aparthotel is a good place to stay and I have no hesitation in recommending it because our stay was overall pleasant and very good.
