Charnwood Guest House

Ruth and Phil were absolutely excellent hosts at this wonderful family run guesthouse. From the minute we arrived to the minute we left - they were full of useful information that made our stay truly superb. The room we had was super clean and very well thought out. Little things like - having a mirror above a shelf for make up, suitable lighting , full length mirror, hooks in bathroom to dry towels, plenty of sockets at variable heights etc. Vegetarian sausages were an option for brekkie (many places STILL do not offer this!) Breakfast service was exceptional…and a great range of choices to suit every palate. Charnwood was in a brilliant location. 2 mins down the road you could turn right - into Lyme Regis (10 min walk)- or left along the river path to Uplyme (30 mins) .The whole area was full of charm. Thatched roof cottages, little bridges connecting houses and streets …we adored it. We both can highly recommend this property as a wonderful place to stay whilst visiting the area. You won’t be disappointed. X

Cozy, clean, and comfortable. Phil and Ruth are so welcoming. Easy walk to town center and the beach. Breakfast is marvelous. Private car park makes it easy in and out. Plenty to see and do. Top notch and yet very affordable. Grab it if you can!!

Good location, in a quiet street and a pleasant ten minute flat walk to the seafront/town centre alongside a picturesque river. Our room was bright, spacious and spotlessly clean with comfortable beds. Great parking too, which was really handy. The hosts, Ruth and Phil, were excellent: friendly and happy to recommend places to eat with nothing being too much trouble. Breakfast was fab too. Would happily stay here again Lots to choose from to eat and drink in Lyme, particularly liked the Pilot boat for a meal, guided tour around the working mill also a must do. West bay and Bridport both worth a visit, the tram at Seaton was also great, but maybe best for the drier and sunnier times of year
