We came for 3 nights and loved everything: fab decor, friendly but professional staff, great room, perfect location. Food all locally sourced and high quality, delicious produce. Beautifully and recently renovated, no expensive spared. Breakfast up there with the best. Menu good, only small thing would be to have 3 starters with Sunday lunch as little on the daily menu offers small starters. Small thing. Loved our stay and considering we came for a rest from a tough time and family loss, this hotel has made us feel so relaxed, welcome and valued customers. Will be back.

This was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Beautiful Accommodation, great food and friendly attentive staff. The hotel makes good use of its various spaces with a formal but relaxed restaurant, a casual dog friendly dining space, bar and a garden that is perfect for any occasion.

We had a fantastic family lunch in The Orangery. Beautiful setting and wonderful food. The service provided by all the staff was excellent, especially from our waitress, Bethan. The dining experience was all the better for Bethan’s caring nature and sparkling personality. Nice garden area too!! We look forward to returning again soon.

We visited on a Friday late lunch with a group of friends, our table wasn’t booked (turned out I had booked it for the day before ). This was absolutely no problem for the girls in front of house. They found us a lovely table with smiles and warm welcome. The menu here is so interesting with choices to suit everyone and fresh and exciting flavours. The starter tapas choices are lovely and I always have chicken satay which has tender chicken and a delightful sauce. The service was excellent. 3 young ladies served us and were polite , attentive and efficient. Well done stanwells with such a great setting / menu / staff you are my favourite place in the area !!!

I have just enjoyed a great lunch. We were welcomed by the newly appointed General Manager, and given a lovely table in the Conservatory. Both the quality of food and level of service were exemplary, and I particularly enjoyed The Fish and Chips as a main course. I would have no hesitation in recommending Stanwell House for a superb lunch !!

Stopped off for a quick lunch and enjoyed it so so much! Renata served us and she was absolutely amazing, as was Eva, Jemima, Enzo, and James. It was very clear that the staff were highly trained- the manager should be very proud! :) Food was delicious as well.

Congratulations to Stanwell House on their first Wine Dinner since the hotel’s refurbishment. It was wonderful evening of quality food/service and expert advice from Gusbourne Wine Ambassador Steve Kirkham. The fish course felt like it would test my boundaries! My only previous experience of cockles has been of an intense vinegar and gritty morsels served in a paper cup at the beach. However, The Turbot, squid ink linguine and cockle cream dish was absolutely delicious. Looking forward to seeing which wine is featured next.

Spent a night at the Stanwell House Hotel for our Wedding Anniversary. The hotel is lovely, really nicely appointed & they kindly upgraded us to a better room, which was nice. Maria on reception is excellent & Emily helped us find their Car Park (which is not easy to do). We had dinner in the restaurant, which was good, the service was slow due to two members of staff being off sick & no replacements being available. The restaurant supervisor however was brilliant (sadly forgotten her name) & did her best to make up for this. The Salt Bar was lovely too, but the barman was clearly having a bad night as seemed to find our simple order an inconvenience, which was a shame. The full English breakfast was probably in the top 5 of those I have ever had in my life (& I’ve had a lot) simply cooked to perfection. A credit to the breakfast team, which is always an underestimated part of any hotel. Book this hotel, it’s a great place to stay, just needs a few more staff to get 5/5.

Popped in for coffee and was seated 20 minutes later I had to asked for someone to take our order 20 minutes later our coffee turned up This is not great service lovely place but terrible service I won’t be returning It wasn’t busy at all I don’t really why the service was so bad
