The Cottages of Lynchburg

The perfect place for family and friends to stay for a wedding! The bride and groom rented the entire property for guests to stay, the wedding was at Castle in the Clouds. They also hired the Wolfeboro trolleys to shuttle guests to and from the venue. We are the parents of the groom and cannot say enough positive things about these cottages! They were comfortable, clean and had everything we could have possibly needed. Melissa and the staff were incredibly gracious and so very helpful with our planning needs for the "rehearsal dinner". They worked hard to make sure everything was perfect, including stocking the firewood, allowing us in early to access refrigerators and having champagne in every cottage. We would highly recommend staying here whether it's booking the whole property or just one of the cute little cottages.

Stayed at one of the cottages for the weekend while we were visiting New Hampshire for the fall season! We had booked them through Airbnb. The rooms are good and decently spacious. The heating system works great! And whole area outside the cottage was very well decorated with the Halloween theme! Made it look beautiful! There is a fire place outside each cottage with enough supplies so you can enjoy a good bonfire during your stay. No complaints about anything.

What a wonderful place to create family memories! On our arrival the staff was friendly and accessible. The property is impeccably maintained and the flowers were just beautiful! Our cottage was perfect with a cute loft for the kids to sleep, while we played cards and made s’mores at the fire pit. They’ve thought of everything here! The Cottages were clean and the beds were super comfortable. We will definitely be back!!! Best vacation spot for relaxing and enjoying the slow pace of lake life.

3 words. We’ll be back! The whole process was seamless and the in-person service that Melissa and her staff provided was amazing! The interior and exterior of the Cottages was exactly what we hoped for. When we arrived, our entire cottage was clean, comfortable, and welcoming. Our lake-vacation and stay at The Cottages was one of the best experiences we've ever had! I stayed here on July 4th in cabin 7 I think it was. What a wonderful place! The cabins are nice and you can barely hear anything from the outside once you’re in them! It’s almost like you’re alone! Not to mention it’s close to all the hiking trails and lake! Just a 2 minute walk you’re by the water, and walk a minute more you’re in downtown Wolfeboro!

We stayed at the Cottages of Wolfeboro for about a week. We heard noises in the middle of the night that woke us up from our sleep. We were not told that there were other people staying in the other side of the Main House. The door leading to the other side had a sticky note that said “Staff Only” so we assumed that when we heard noises in the morning that it was staff. We were not expecting to hear loud noises in the middle of the night. The owner was rude and dismissive when we reached out to ask if there were supposed to be people at night. She told us we had been told there was a caretaker’s unit. First, we weren’t told that. And second, a caretaker’s unit doesn’t mean someone is sleeping there. We wouldn’t go through the trouble of leaving this review, but her behavior towards me and my husband during our stay was egregious. The above being only one small issue that we were initially willing to overlook. Other things happened as well but it’s too much to get into.

My family stayed in these updated and charming cottages for a recent October weekend to attend a wedding at the Pickering Inn in Wolfeboro. Email and phone contacts with Melissa and first impressions upon arrival were all I needed to know I made a great decision in choosing these accommodations. Each cottage had been meticulously cleaned and sanitized with noticeable attention to detail all around the rooms. The roasting sticks with the “samoa kit” brought back many NH memories of our past and was such a great welcome gift. The atmosphere inside the cottage was cozy and quiet for sleeping and the bed would rival any hotel in terms of comfort. Loved having morning coffee on the closed in porch. The location of the Cottages of Wolfeboro was outstanding. We were able to walk to a nearby market and into town for all the wedding activities. In addition, there were several amenities here like kayaks and bikes that made us wish we were staying longer. We did take advantage of the private courtyard to enjoy a picnic lunch and relax in between events. Shoutout to Brian, who was frequently seen outdoors keeping the walkways cleared of falling leaves and was readily available to answer any of our questions. We couldn’t have been happier with our choice to stay here!

Very cute cabins. A great spot for a large group if a few of the cabins are available. Easy walk to town, and an easy drive to Brewster beach for swimming. The onsite staff are excellent. Always friendly and responsive to our requests and full of knowledge about the town and area. Highly recommend!

The whole property is very appealing, with cute freestanding or semidetached cottages. I stayed in the "caretaker's apartment" which is attached to the big house, with a separate entrance. It's a fun space, a little weird, but a lot cheaper than the cottages, which are quite pricey. The apartment has two stories, with a tiny living room and bathroom on the first floor. The bathroom is quite small, and has what they call a European shower - meaning there's no shower stall, the whole bathroom is the shower stall. It actually works fine, as long as you remember to keep your belongings, the TP, etc. from getting wet. On the second floor there's a full bed with a little sleeping loft over it, and (same room) a kitchen with full-size appliances. And a small counter with stools for eating or using your laptop. It was nice and clean and worked perfectly for one person. A couple with a kid would fit, barely. The hosts were very nice and eager to help with directions and recommendations. It's very close to two ***** malls, which include a grocery store and a good breakfast place (Katie's). Downtown, with lots of restaurants and shops, is a reasonable walk or very short drive.
