The moment we checked in, the front desk put us off asking for payment on our credit card, whereas we had already paid ******* for our one-night stay. This one was on top of the usual deposit. The staff was adamant that was "our policy." We reluctantly gave the credit card. Never before have we been asked by any hotel when the payment amount was already made through *******. We were charged $12 more when we checked in. We were not pleased with this policy. The room we got appeared frugal, with no table and only one chair. The elevator always made a thud noise as it opened and closed, scaring us if it would stall in the middle. The 'free breakfast' was sub-standard. And on top of all this, there was construction the whole night in front of the hotel property. Overall, it was not a pleasant stay. But staying at La Quinta in Wenatchee, WA, after about two weeks was the most delightful experience with amiable staff, and no asking for payment again when we had already paid to *******. Wondering if La Quinta hotel chain has different policies at different locations?
