Hôtel Vaubecour - Centre Lyon Ainay - Perrache

Stayed here for four nights, had a really enjoyable stay. The rooms and the hotel are small however this adds to the nice aesthetic of the place. Breakfast is good, and the pastries and bread are very fresh. My only criticism is the pillows are too hard but that's just my personal preference. All of the staff were friendly and attentive, would recommend staying here.

This hotel is not a good choice. When you enter the old building, you already see that you made the wrong choice. The hotel is on the 2nd floor of a very old building, you do not feel in a hotel, it is much more like a hostel. The stairs are dark and the lights don't have timers to keep them switch on when you are going up or down. Room 11 was freezing in the first night, the heating does not work properly, luckily, on the second day, I got a portable heater, which improved the situation. The coffee is simple and the same every day. The towels are small. When I left, my wife fell on the stairs and twisted her ankle due to the poor lighting of the stairs. The only thing that saves the day is the goodwill of the girls who work at the hotel.

I chose this hotel because of the reviews and the owner’s response to the reviews. I knew exactly what it was going to be like based on what I read. The owner, Mr. Prieur, replied to most reviews and I appreciated the time he took and the responses he gave. I knew the hotel would be clean, and a great value. I was not disappointed! The room and bathroom were a generous size, we had two twin beds pushed together which is what I expected and the owner had confirmed with me that is what I wanted. The room was extremely clean and the beds and sheets were comfortable. I knew there was no AC as I made sure to check in the description, but knew it would be cooler when I was there so it would not be a problem. The room is decently sound proofed and there was a fan in case you need air. There is also a kettle to make coffee or tea. We did not have breakfast, but I’m sure it would have been lovely. The hotel and area felt safe and there was a lift which was great! The young man who checked us in was very nice and helpful, as well as the owner Mr. Prieur. There are a couple of restaurants in the area and a bakery down the street. It’s also walking distance to the old town of Lyon. There’s a little market downstairs as well so you can buy drinks or snacks. We ate at Casabea for dinner in a lively area of restaurants and the food was great and the waiter was lovely. I truly enjoyed my stay and would not hesitate to stay here again! It’s a great price and a lovely place!

Very good bed and Nice Room to rest after walking on Lyon. They take care my luggage when We arrive, very friendly and nice. Good location for walk in old Lyon, Nice restaurante and charming buildings. Will be Nice came black again more days to enjoy the city

The perfect one night stay while exploring Lyon. Really handy location between The Confluence and the Hotel Ville means everything is walkable. We had a lovely spacious room, with gorgeous period details, a truly incredible bed and even our own little balcony. Everything was impeccably clean and breakfast was very reasonable. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Lyon.

The price was good and decent for the value I got. The room was pretty and clean. I did not find any dirt or bugs. The room was decent in size and the bed was very comfy. The location was good and very central, and the staff was very nice and accommodating. I did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment on it. I am very satisfied with my stay here. Highly recommend to book this hotel when you are in Lyon. The room could have been bigger and the price could have been cheaper.
