The hotel is a nice design, but all the rest is awful. Stuff don't speak English practically at all. The breakfast is no words for 5 star hotel it is not acceptable. Our rest was spoiled. The price is so high for just good beds. A kind of guesthouse. We booked this hotel to feel the atmosphere of Macao but now understand that it was better to book some net hotel a la Hilton, with the same price. Very disappointed.

Frankly, for a five-star property the offering falls slightly short of expectations. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful, and the staff are unquestionably the highlight. That said, for a premium experience, the jacuzzi tub in our room was defective and non-functional, and several towels were visibly worn, some even had holes in them. It’s surprising these details weren’t caught before arrival, but they feel worth noting for a property at this level.

This is my second stay at the hotel. The hotel has nice Portuguese style architecture and a really relaxing atmosphere in the entrance hall. There is a nice view. I previously enjoyed my stay enough, in particular due to the exquisite bathtub, to return a second time. Little did I know that only one room has that beautiful bath tub and I was just extremely lucky on my first stay. My room this time was fine, but it just wasn’t as nice as my first stay. There was mold in the bathtub in a few places showing that the cleanliness is just standard, but not up to par for a 5 star hotel in my opinion. Macau is hot so it’seasy to have mold. Thorough cleaning is really important. In addition, because it is an older building, there are some little spiders and other little bugs in the rooms sometimes. Not any scary bugs, but still just a point. The hotel location is in a quiet area and near a bus stop. However, there are no convenience stores in the surrounding area (closest is a 15 minute walk) and the hotel does not provide many options to make up for this. The first time I stayed here I arrived at 9 pm and wasn’t even able to eat at the restaurant in the hotel. It seemed like a joke. In addition to that, there are not many restaurants open later thanthat in the area as well. So, I don’t recommend booking this hotel if you will need to eat later on in the evening. The staff is generally helpful but were never able to solve any problems I had completely. Personally, I think it is worth coming to the location to check out the architecture and design. There is a restaurant so you could come to eat a meal and enjoy those nice perks without staying in the hotel. I think I would come to the restaurant in the future, but I will most likely not return for another stay.

Best place to stay in Macau far away from Casinos and fake international hotels with zero personality and history. Managed by a small company with best Italian chef (Jonathan) I have met in my whole life (I'm super picky with this matters), able to switch from local dishes to Portuguese to Italians! Kind staff and hard working, communication not 100% easy but it is china guys so you cannot expect to speak like you are at your home town, smiles and kind are always there especially by the manager Celia which is always willing to help and learn to improve. Hotel would be worth a visit only due to the history behind, location is great and I consider it my second home in Macau. If you are looking for genuine location and stay go there and you will not regret! Franco

Cool place on the Macau side. Most historic building with with deep soul and perfect view. Friendly staff helping with any questions❤️

Old place revisited after its renovation. Everything looks good. The small church is still there and I love to see what we stayed at last time. Service is different as now we can use media to communicate which is more direct and react. Will come back again.

The hotel location is good as it is not far away from city centre and quiet. The room is comfortable and spacious.

The hotel is a beautifully renovated former fortress with remarkable artistic and historical value. Despite being within walking distance from the bustling city center, it offers a peaceful environment where you can wake up to the sound of birds singing. Its location is also ideal for exploring Macau’s World Heritage sites, being close to the historical preservation area. Most of the staff speak English, and everyone was very kind and service-minded, making my stay extremely comfortable. If I were to mention one minor drawback, it would be that there are not enough power outlets in the room — having a few more would make it even better.
