The hotel itself was fine, the room was good and the staff were helpful and friendly. It was about what I would expect for the price point. The restaurant (Benevenuto's) on the other hand was AWFUL. We only used it one time, last night (3rd July). The service was atrocious. They took our order well enough, but everything from that point went down hill. There were maybe 5 tables occupied, quite sufficient for one server to attend. Our drinks took probably 30 minutes, my kids meals came in maybe 45, and fortunately, despite their best manners, we advised them to eat, lest they get cold. I spoke to the hostess, who was super nice, and asked for a manager, who I never saw. My daughter had ordered a bottled soda, which was finally delivered around an hour mark After another 30 minutes or so, we asked where our food was, and the server had no idea that it had never even been delivered. He went to the kitchen, and it is was clearly waiting in the window for a while. He brought it out and apologized, offered to take it off or have it remade. It had clearly been sitting for at least 20-30 minutes, the fish was completely dry and the steak was pretty tough by that point. He said "no-one was watching the line" I thought to myself, isn't that his job, to watch the line on behalf of his tables???? I am shocked that the chefs weren't yelling at him for the food dying in the window. We ate what we could and he was very apologetic, comping the whole meal, to his credit. We had already planned to order desserts, so we did not feel bad when he comped those too, though clearly they did not want us in the restaurant any longer, as they brought the desserts out in to go containers, including the creme brulee, which the menu specifically said was not available to go, for obvious reasons, they had simply made it, then dumped it into a to go container!! Overall, the experience was terrible, took around 2 hours from sitting down, and I will never eat at another Benevenuto's again.
