Hostal Rober

Great location as right in Puerta del Sol. It is an old residence unit converted to guest hostel. As the wall (wooden) is no sound prove function, thus quiet is highly reserved if you are staying here as not to disturb other guests. The room condition is good, front desk is 24 hours. The only hiccup during my stay was on the last days of mine 3 nights of which no water supply on my checkout day. The shower was halted and can’t do washing and cleaning at all. Apparently it is the whole area issue as we learned from the staff.

The best location in the city centre, easy to find very clean and tidy. Will be back again when we come to Madrid.

The hotel is located almost next to Opera metro station on the 5th floor of a traditional large apartment building, lift is available. Check in was easy and staff friendly. The rooms still have old fashioned keys which need to be left at reception each time you leave. The rooms are clean and spacious, small bathroom, small tv. View either on front street or back of similar buidings. No fridge, no kettle.. There are only two sockets in the room (third one used for airco) which is not convenient to charge laptop. There is a safe but this is not free, €1 each time it is locked.Wifi is good. The hotel offers no breakfast or other services but breakfast can be found nearby.
