This lodge situated on the waterfront was well located in Mahebourg. The room had everything one would need for a comfortable stay, the hosts were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. The breakfast was excellent. Gave it a 4 stars because of a couple of small maintenance issues, the in room safe didn't work, but then not many have in our month travelling around and the patio door didn't close fully. We had a couple of very windy nights and the door rattled and whistled a little. I would stay here again.

I would recommend looking for alternative accommodations. The property, though seemingly appealing in photos, especially the garden view, falls short in reality. The swimming options are limited to a small pool. The entire establishment carries a Hindu-style aesthetic, which may feel cluttered and chaotic to some. The breakfast area, resembling what one might find in a slum, does not inspire confidence in dining there. Additionally, the cleanliness of the rooms is questionable, with unclean walls being a notable concern. Coupled with outdated amenities, slow Wi-Fi, inefficient air conditioning, and a lack of elevator for upper floors, the overall experience is significantly diminished. The ill-fitting bedding, loud toilet, and the need for an urgent renovation further contribute to a less-than-ideal stay. I definitely would not choose to stay here again.

Both double rooms had a lake view, but the standard was very different. The breakfast was good with French bread that appeared to be very fresh. It was nice to be able to sit outside and study the behavior of the small birds. They kept control of the tables before and during breakfast. In the first room the fan didn’t work. It was to slow. Therefore it became unacceptably hot especially, when I was trying to sleep. The shower had been turned off and the bathroom floor became very slippery when it had become wet. We found the town of Mahebourg nice, so we extended our stay by two days. The hotel offered us a new room with a much better standard when we stayed two more days. I appreciated that we now had a fridge and a shower that worked. It was nice with a pool but difficult to get up, when it had rained. After the rain the edge of the pool had become very slippery. I didn't want to slip and hurt myself. I swam in the sea the other days. The beach was very shallow. But watch out! There are a lot of sharp corals. I will give 4 points. (Three points for the first part of the stay and five for the last.)

Stay away from this place. If you book via booking or similar they cancel your booking if they get a better deal with directly paying customers.. I booked on Saturday and got a confirmation letter: mime-attachment.png Hello , we are pleased to welcome you at our Guest House. A free breakfast as from 8:00 am till 9:00 am . Latest check in time is 20 hrs . Pick up from airport will be 15 euro one way . Free wifi in public areas only . Payment for your full stay must be done on yr arrival time . Parking space just outside infront the building. Thanking you for your booking at coco villa and a warm welcome is waiting for you . The on Monday the send me a letter to ask me to cancel my booking! I was very upset and annoyed! Terrible service and only after money not caring about client's at all!!! Do not stay here!

I booked a double room in this hotel on *******. The booking was confirmed, the payment was carried out and one week later the hotel told me to cancel my booking on ******* as they were expecting a large group. Not even an apology was offered. Stay away from them!
