Booked a spa day for 3 friends. Before booking hadn’t realised that there were only 2 spa facilities (aside from any treatments) - a large outdoor jacuzzi and a sauna. The jacuzzi looks like a pool on the website which is a bit misleading. So we were a bit concerned that we would not have enough to enjoy in our 4 or so hours there. Luckily it was a sunny day and we could enjoy the outside loungers, as well as the hot tub and sauna and with a treatment too we didn’t find ourselves at a loose end. On a rainy or wintry day, not sure how much use the outdoor facilities would be. Anyhow, all staff were friendly and efficient and made us feel welcome. The spa staff were really lovely and helpful. The little seating rooms in the spa area is pleasant and a good idea (with fruit provided), but a few more chairs (or loungers) wouldn’t go amiss and a coffee/tea machine (true than having to ask already busy staff) would be an improvement. Plus ensuring a plentiful supply of clean glasses for the jugs of water provided. The spa treatment was really pleasant and the treatment rooms and whole spa area very attractive. Dinner was included and it was from a set menu ( all the dinners seemed to be in spa breaks ). This was the real surprise - everything we chose was absolutely delicious - the soup, the burrata salad, the veggie risotto (outstanding!), and a simply divine tiramisu. Was with fairly fussy eaters and they were both happy. Crowd pleasing food done exceptionally well. The bestmeal out I’d had in a while! So thanks Taplow House Hotel! The reviews we’d read prior had been mixed (on the spa breaks) but we found a warm and friendly welcome, staff who were really on their game, a lovely spa experience, absolutely delicious food and really lovely surroundings! What more could you ask for? Well, maybe an overnight stay the next time to enjoy the hotel longer and try their breakfast! 😋
