Valamar Meteor Hotel

The Valamar Meteor hotel was in a great location right by the beach and near the old town. The view was nice and the room was clean. Breakfast is also great !! The sunset is beautiful !!

Sehr schönes, modernisiertes Hotel in Top Lage. Frühstück ausgezeichnet. Die Fläche vor dem InfinityPool und Liegen waren leider komplett überfüllt und nichts mehr frei , was etwas ungemütlich war. Der kleine Garten vor dem Innenpool mit den Liegen und den Daybetten war aber schön ruhig und nicht ganz so überlaufen. Hotel ist auf jeden Fall empfehlenswert.

We have just got back from this holiday, and I feel this holiday exceeded my expectations. The hotel is in a perfect location surrounded by lots of restaurants and a few bars. We went with a family of 3, there is plenty to do at this hotel for a toddler. We had a day trip to Bosnia, went to the sky walk on a tut tut and also went to Kira National Park. The hotel is a good location and has lots of trips on offer. A downside I would say is that I did feel the room was a little small for a family of 3. There wasn’t much space to store clothes and put empty suitcases ect. However we are not moaners and we didn’t let that affect our stay. The food was great in the restaurant for breakfast and tea. We were always there early with having a little one who gets up early.

Amazing hotel. We don't do hotels but as first time here we took that route. Rooms are small but you're not in them all day. Staff are brilliant. Breakfast is what you want or not it's included. Plenty for families in here and round resort. On the beach. Very central. Wee fridge in room for your own things. No sunbed wars but there can be. Bathrooms are adequate with toiletries. Hot water on tap. Cleaning every day if you want but not necessary. Air con is . Can't upgrade rooms at reception though. You have to go online and pay full price despite having paid already. So when choosing this hotel make sure you ask for the room you want. There are bigger ones but not many. Kids toys like mini bikes,scooters etc are on reception floor but stairs could be a hazard. Never seen entertainment but can here it but not loud enough to not sleep. Balcony doors are soundproof unless opened. I would definitely recommend here. There's so much to do. Big kids club for folks with wee ones. All staff we have spoken to or engaged with have been extremely helpful. Plenty shops around for extras as in supermarkets, bakery etc. You won't be disappointed.

Best in town location, spectacular view up and down from the hotel. Comfortable rooms, kind and professional staff. Excellent cuisine. In peak times of the year some can feel crowded especially around sun beds. Great Maro club for the kids.

Great location. On the beach and a 7 minute walk into Makarska Port with lots to do. Bars and restaurants are on your doorstep. The setting is beautiful with the mountains in the background. The infinity pool has amazing views looking onto the promenade and beach. Food was very good, all of the staff who we came across were excellent. The resort was very busy which is not for everyone. We were a group of 10 with 5 children ranging from 11-17 yrs so the liveliness worked well. Downsides would be the sunbed situation. For the infinity pool, people start queuing at 8.20am for a 9am opening. The queuing system wasn’t managed and when the pool staff gave the nod at 9am, people ran to get the sunbeds they wanted, negotiating sunbeds, tables and other obstacles in their way. As a group of 10, we had to join the race to have a chance of getting sunbeds together or near. However, most people we met were in groups or 2 or 4 and felt they had to do the same. It really did feel like a sports day race and together with the people we met whilst waiting together each morning, we were able to joke about the situation. But, in all seriousness, this was unacceptable. It added unnecessary time and stress aswell as being a health and safety hazard. There must be a better way! The loungers on the beach were all taken by 7.30am and hotel guests were charged 8 Euros a day. Non guests had the same access to the loungers (at a cost of 14 Euros) which felt very unfair on hotel guests. We booked superior inter-connecting family rooms and they were small and did not not feel 4 star or superior! The bathrooms were small and dated with a shower over the bath. For my 78 year old mother, this was difficult to access. All in all we did enjoy our holiday, but probably wouldn’t go back there. For the price, it lacked the touches you would expect from a 4-star, which we have had at other hotels.

I was in hotel for 6 nights. Great animation, very kind and professional. They have a lot of animation for kids. And big thanks for Marko (porter) , very kind person. The only thing that disapointed me is reception lady (curly hair). Very unprofessional, with 0 empathy. We waited for 2 hours to check. Hotel is perfrect, very clean and nice looking. Food is very nice, they have a lot of food to choose, always fresh and good, for everyone . Staff is very good and kind, so I was very happy with everything. Specialy good for family with kids! A lot of activities for kids ❤️

We’ve stayed at Valamar hotels before and this one lived up to our previous great experiences. Amazing location, right on the beach with an amazing infinity pool between the hotel and beach. Plenty of sun beds and loungers too. We stayed half board and fully intended to eat out a few nights but the food was excellent with plenty of selection and seemingly all of excellent quality and locally sourced., so we actually only ate out on the last night. Yes the room (1616) wasn’t the biggest and did lack a bit of storage but it was more than adequate and the view from the balcony, especially the sunset, was great. All in all we had an excellent 10 days in the beautiful resort of Markaska and the excellent Meteor Hotel.

Nice hotel of our favorite brand Valamar in Croatia, but also with some issues. We enjoyed the quality of service, especially, the food was good but not much to surprise, quite repeating day after day. Not many child chairs in the restaurants, dirty dishes not taken away quickly at dinner. To the hotel - ensure not to let so many outsiders to the pool area, especially on weekends to make the stay more enjoyable for your guests.
