For a family of six, the space was more than enough — honestly, a bit of an overkill — but we appreciated the nicely done interior. The two bathrooms made things a lot more efficient for our group, and the beds and pillows were very comfortable. The whole place was clean and well-maintained.
The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were helpful and friendly — we really appreciated that.
We had read good reviews about the breakfast, and while some items were just okay, I have to give a shoutout to the cappuccino and nyonya laksa — those were definitely the highlights. However, the indoor seating area was too limited. Many guests had to eat outside, which was uncomfortably hot.
The outdoor swimming pool was spacious, though unfortunately, the indoor pool was closed for maintenance during our stay. It did get quite crowded in the morning, especially during peak hours.
We mostly used Grab to get around Melaka, but just a heads-up: The Shore has only one entry route, which means pick-up can take some time. One of our rides took nearly 20 minutes because of the traffic congestion around the area.
The Shore itself feels rather empty — not much going on except for the Breakout escape room and the Oceanarium. Food options in the mall are quite limited, so it’s definitely better to head out if you’re looking for variety.
One downside was the washing machine in our unit — it didn’t work well, and it would really help if they could consider replacing it.
If we were to visit Melaka again, I’d likely explore other hotel options.
