Beck Hall

What an amazing place! Elegantly decorated room, attentive staff without being pushy, hotel in a quiet spot close to the best walking, but the best part was the food which was exceptional. Every dish was well prepared, cooked perfectly and made our stay.

Beck Hall was such a glorious place to stay. Food was truly stunning, possibly the best vegan food I’ve had. We stayed in room 11 which was small but perfect for us. Location is just perfect, being in the middle of various walks. Mallham cove walk is 5 mins if you turn right out of beck hall.

Such a lovely place! 10/10 for the food, the service and overall experience. Highly recommended! We went for the dinner, bed & breakfast option. Seriously, the food is absolutely next level. Our room was small & cosy, totally immaculate. Book a stay here immediately

I was here two years ago so when I booked, I didn’t really pay much attention to the email. We arrived for our two night stay only to realise the hotel had become vegan in December 23. Had I read the email, I probably would have cancelled but I am so glad I didn’t. The hotel remains warm and welcoming to guests. It is especially welcoming to dogs who are treated like royalty with treats and beds. They are welcome wherever you go in the hotel, which retains its charm with little bridges and river side tables. And so to the food. Two years ago, it was amazing. That has not changed. I am completely blown away by the menu. We had lunch when we arrived. The potato wraps were fabulous. Our dinner was samosas, Indian Thali and Mushroom stroganoff pudding with a chocolate pot dessert. The second evening, we both chose the celeriac with Indian spice soup and the ginger ‘chicken’ noodles. Dessert was lemon cake and ice cream. The standard of food was so stunning that both of us, huge carnivores, could not find fault. The combination of flavours was quite unbelievable. Come and try it. This was a brave move in a small Yorkshire village but it was full with every night we were here. That gives an idea of how good the food is.

We came a long way (California) after months of planning to include Beck Hall in our travels, precisely because it is the only platform-based hotel and restaurant in England. The bonus is that it is in gorgeous area. Our room was small but comfortable, the bed plush. We loved all of our meals there, hiking on a beautiful day, and meeting other travelers. We would stay there again in a heartbeat, but it’s quite a bit out of the way for us! But we have already recommended it to our English friends and they have already completed their stay there, adding it to their holiday in the Lake District.

we loved our time here, the location is incredible and so serene, the food is delicious, and overall it was a lovely stay. only criticism is the walls in the room are a bit shoddy in places with scuffs and patchwork paint, which for the price we pay should be fixed! but it was a lovely place :)

Me and my husband stayed two nights in one of the historic rooms in the main house. Very comfortable stay, but the overriding wow factors are the friendly staff and the incredible food! So tasty and well presented, and the service is impeccable. Highly recommended.

Stunning location, the restaurant/food is lovely. Staff couldn’t be friendlier, nothing was a bother to them. The room was super cosy. Dogs are really welcomed, the snug looked lovely but we didn’t actually use it as we opted to sit out by the stream. We would definitely stay again. Thank you!

The food is the star here. It's delicious and very reasonably priced. It has great ambience, friendly staff, and a really nice vibe. I hope it's helping to show meat eaters (and vegetarians) that plant-based food can be inventive and tasty.
